Way below the Mason-Dixon line, Eightball, A/K/A the Phat Mack, and his partner MJG have been rockin' hip-hop beats for years. Combining southern- flavored hip-hop and socially relevant lyrics, Eightball has positioned himself for solo success. MJG makes numerous appearances on the album on such tracks as "Let's Ride," "Put Your Hands Up" and "Stompin and Pimpin'." Teaming up with some of today's hottest rappers, Eightball's solo debut is a two-disc set deep in laid-back tracks and smooth rhymes.
"Get Money" sports an appearance from Busta Rhymes, "Backyard Mississippi" features the Goodie Mob and "360" has an all-star team of Rappin' 4-Tay, Spice-1 and E-40. Other players include Master P, Silkk The Shocker, Mystikal, Redman, Too Short and many more. The textures of the album are consistent, the rhymes always impressive and the supporting cast is practically unbeatable. Without question, Eightball seems to know just what to give his fans. Often a two-disc set lacks in consistency after a while, but LOST delivers 30-plus songs that show Eightball's depth as an artist.
