Still Loooking for the Real Thing

Don't get me wrong. _Lost Highway_ is, in my opinion, a masterpiece of cinema. My only trouble is that, after looking in many places online and otherwise, when I thought I finally found a copy of the film in the original aspect ratio, it turned out to be another pan & scan copy. Not only that, but the quality is terrible. I've seen cinema bootlegs in Russia (camera set up on a tripod in the back of the theater; the edges of the screen are clipped; we hear people in the audience talking and laughing, and see them get up to use the restroom) that turned out better. I won't even mention that the disc -- manufactured in Canada -- says clearly "NOT AUTHORIZED FOR SALE OR RENTAL OUTSIDE CANADA," while the seller shipped from a US address to me at another US address.
I know that this is not a review of the seller, but if I'm going to say WHY I purchased this nonsense, I have to say that it was only because I specifically asked the seller if it was the widescreen version, and he/she/it got back to me with nothing but stock autoreplies with absolutely no useful information. So I took a risk and lost out.
Like him or not, David Lynch is a visionary, and DVDs like this, that take it upon themselves to alter the film as the auteur intended it to be seen, are an insult to the art of film. It's worse than allowing Steven Segal to continue acting. All I'm trying to do is track down the real thing, and sellers like the one from whom I bought this only care about making a sale, however illegally. If anyone out there wants to sell me what I'm looking for, please let me know.
For reference, the edition from which I recommend STAYING AWAY is:
Warner Bros. # 20070, manufactured and distributed by Seville Pictures, Inc.
