In this sequel Dave's life gets better, but he has a whole new set of problems & your heart is still going out to him. And " The Mother" isn't gone yet. Excellent follow up.

I bought this book because I had read the first one called 'A Boy Called It' and this was the second one in the series. I like reading stories about real people and real experiences. Even though I felt horrible about what he went through growing up in an abusive home, I could hardly put the book down. It is an easy reader and once you start it, you won't be able to put it down easily. The whole series is wonderful. A must read!

I bought this book as a gift for my 12 year old granddaughter. She had previously read A Boy Called It and really enjoyed the story. I told her there was another book by the same author, and she wanted to read it. She has not yet finished the book, but did tell me, so far, it's been interesting. I think reading is a wonderful way for young people to spend their spare time. If I can help trigger the desire to read, I'll do it. I also have a 14 year old granddaughter who loves to read. I have ordered books for her as well. My 6 year old grandson and 7 year old granddaughter are just learning to read. When the time comes, I'll buy books for them as well.

It is the sequel to A Boy Called It. David Pelzer is such a good author. It's an easy read that takes you into the his life growing up in foster homes and the stereotypes he had to overcome. It's just a very moving book.

THIS IS THE BOOK SECOND IN THE SERIES. AN EXCELLENT CONTINUATION OF A CHILD CALLED IT. YOU JUST WANT TO WRAP YOUR ARMS AROUND HIM AND JUST HOLD HIM CLOSE TO LET HIM KNOW THAT YOU'RE THERE FOR HIM. AND YOU WILL TAKE CARE OF HIM AND RAISE HIM LIKE A SON. A MUST READ BOOK

The Lost Boy is an excellent book!!!!!!!!
Review created: 08/02/09

I bought this book after reading the first one called A Boy Called It. Although these books are terribly sad they are fantastic and you will be unable to put them down. I am now reading the last one called A Man Named Dave and I am enjoying that one as well. I highly recommend these 3 books to everyone that loves a tear jerker.

  I loved this book!

This book is just one of several written by the author. The true account of severe child abuse that he suffered at the hand of his mother is astonishing! His spirit, and the courage to survive is amazing. Parts of this book were hard to read and I found myself crying. Every child in America should read this book, so when they are adults, they will be able to notice when a child is abused and take appropriate action. It certainly made me appreciate the childhood that I had and the love from my family. I would highly recommend this to everyone. Read "A Child Called It" first.

Tear Jerker! One of the best series I've ever read!

We LOVE all of these books. Quite moving, especially since my wife grew up in a similar situation. Thankfully, she made it out just like Dave did. We are going to foster and adopt, and these books have let me see through my future children's eyes in a way I could never have. Now I understand what my wife went through better. My eleven year old daughter is reading a Child Called It right now. It's speaking to her, too. Just maybe she'll grow up and rescue someone out of that pain, too.

This is an excellent story for those who work in the child protection field as well as for those who love children. It is an inspirational story that motivates, captivates, and inspires.

I first read A Child Called It after having received it as an employee appreciation gift. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. I quickly order the other two books which made me cry, made me angry, and also inspired me to be the best social worker, caregiver, and human being possible. I recommend it!!!

This is a very good book. It makes you cry. It is amazing triumph of a little boy and what he has over come. I owned "The child called It", and I wanted to know the rest of the story so I purchased "The lost boy". This is a book that is hard to put down after you start to read it.

I do not like the fact that I have purchased this item over a week ago and I have attempted to contact the seller NUMEROUS times and he/she still will not bother to reply, I do not know what's going on, but it is VERY much annoying to say the least. I would appreciate it if the seller would send me some kind of message, or better yet, my book that has already been paid for!
