One of the few movies I will own

The Lord of the Rings is a great story that develops strong believable characters and has a plot that is universal, profound, and well developed. By-the-way; a universal plot is a plot that is relevant with all cultures and at all times (so dying to get on a realty tv show would not be a universal theme). The issue of good and evil is realized through the development of the characters and the assumption that behind our own tendency toward evil there is a real malevolent evil spirit alive in the world adds to the integrity of the story. That strength often has not much to do with physical power but with character of will is a major aspect that is development in the background and adds a weighty dimension to this movie. That love has everything to do with choice and not infatuation or fleeting emotions is also well developed as a background theme. That dying is not the worse thing that could happen to one assuming that ones death is bought about by a worthy cause is another subtly stated element element These movies are about as good as movie making gets. I don't own many movies except these and a few others.
