The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (DVD, 2004, Widescreen; 2-Disc Set)

The final installment of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy is an Adventure masterpiece that is worthy of every Oscar that it recieved. If you haven't seen the first two films, though, I would probably watch them first. This fil could possibly be the best sequel to any set of films that I have ever seen. It is visually stunning and emotionally fulfilling in every way imaginable. Leaving the three Star Wars prequels far behind, it stands alone in the sci fi-fantasy realm as the reigning "King", pun intended. If you are a fan of J.R.R. Tolkien's books, as I am, you will notice many differences from the original story to the one that made it to the screen, but if you aren't too picky you may even have to admit that there couldn't have been a better film made to honor the work that Tolkien did. First class stuff all the way. Remember, see the first two films before this one. Trust me, it's worth the wait! Oh yeah, if you are not too lazy, read the books before you watch any of them.
