Synopsis
A mother's love is the most powerful, eternal truth there is, but what if it is based on a lie? Lisa Scottoline, known for her pulse-pounding thrillers, adds some brain and a lot of heart to the adrenaline in this novel, which uses a Jodi Picoult-like premise to aim at a wider audience. Philadelphia journalist Ellen Gleason discovers that her adopted son, Will, may be a missing child from Florida. As she begins to investigate, she finds a disturbing number of dead ends and dead bodies. It soon becomes apparent that there are greater forces at work, and that she and Will are a smaller part of a grand, evil scheme-which means they too are disposable. The only way for Ellen to protect Will is to expose the malicious conspiracy, but the closer she comes to the truth, the closer she may be to losing her beloved son.

"LOOK AGAIN keeps you engrossed and guessing. It braids gripping themes of child abduction, the love of an adoptive mom for the baby she was born to parent, and the collateral damage of the big city: kids killed by thugs with guns."
(04/12/2009)

"[A] pulse-racing novel starring an intrepid newspaper reporter."
