Were you Raised Catholic? This Book Is For You
This is the third John Grogan book I've read. Marley and Me was terrific, Bad Dogs Have More Fun, was only so-so, thus I didn't know what to expect with this book. It's an excellent book about parent child, parent adult child relationships. Anyone who reads it will enjoy it, but if you were raised Catholic, and attended Catholic schools in the 40s, 50s and 60s, or you had fundamentalist Catholic parents, the book will be even more meaningful. The rigidity of his parents, their unwavering belief in the church and its leaders is amazing. A lot of adult-child, parent conflict but totally believable. It isn't a tear jerker, it has some great humor in it, and yet is serious in its own way. I recommend it.
