This is an excellent kid's book. I am reading the entire Little House Series to my girls a little at at time before bed each night, and The Long Winter, is just as wonderful as the others. Great descriptions of outdoors, living in the late 1800's, and a great example of how families work together and grow together.
My girls are 4 and 6 and love these books!

Great book!This was one of my favorite "Little House" books when I was a child. I bought this for my personal/my children's collection. I have all of Laura Ingalls Wilder's other books, but was somehow never able to find this one. I always had to check it out at the library. I bought this to complete my set of books, so that my children can have the complete collection. This is a great addition to the other books in the series.
