CD was in great condition, played perfectly, and arrived quickly. I would do business with the seller again.

The Lonesome Crowded West is my second favorite Modest Mouse CD (second only to GNFPWLBN). If you think Good News is full of raw emotion you probably have not heard this one yet. It's a solid block of hurt, frustration, and anger (sometimes misdirected) at humans, God, and existence in general. If that doesn't spark your interest maybe the music will. Experimental punk, grunge, country, hip hop crazyness! 5 Huge Stars!

Well I can't really write a review because I never got it. They got my money but no CD .2nd time this has happened. I'm really getting sick of paying for items and I don't receive anything. Thinking of not using ebay again.

This is a great album one of my favorites. If you like or love Modest Mouse its a must buy. Also if you like indie music you will most likely enjoy it too.

  Classic MM, Great Album
Review created: 10/06/08

A classic older modest mouse album. If you are a Modest Mouse fan, i can compare it to the Moon and Antartica sound, only not as much mixing/effects. Sounds more acoustic (better). Only maybe one or 2 filler tracks, which grow on you and an overall solid album. I loved Moon and Antartica, but actually prefer this now. If you are new to Modest Mouse, you probably first heard stuff from Good News or We Were Dead. Don't buy this expecting to hear sounds like that. The best way to do it is get Good News for People who love Bad News first, as it is the most mainstream sounding album, and move into the older stuff as you get into Modest Mouse. The Moon and Antartica is pretty much the bridge between the older sound and the new one. But for a fan, an excellent album. Do buy.

One of my all time favoirtes
Review created: 01/09/08

This album contains some of the best Modest Mouse songs ever written, but also has a lot of randomness floating around. A good 30% of the songs I feel are too random and structureless to be much good, but the rest are gold. If you are not inclined to enjoy jam-style, sometimes meandering songs, or non-melodic sounds, this is not the album for you. But if you like sloppy, from the gut rock, this is it. The lyrics are sometimes vague, but still seem meaningful. "Cockaroach" is one of the greatest rock songs I've heard, and the opening track "Teeth Like God's Shoeshine" really highlights MM's mix of soft and hard, and "Trailer Trash" is absolutely beautiful, with a blend of heartbreaking and hopeful sounding guitar. This is the album I put on when I want to feel real and raw, whatever that means to you.

Modest Mouse is cooler than you

This CD came out before "Good News for People who Love Bad News." Modest Mouse is a very unique band and if you've ever liked anything they or ugly casanova has done, you should consider adding this CD to your collection. This is the type of CD you can listen the whole way through without getting bored. A+!

  Modest Mouse CD Great Buy

Within a few weeks I completed my Modest Mouse collection with EBay. I think the most I spent with shipping was 9 bucks for any of the albums. I even found suggestions for alternative bands that I may like as a fan of Modest Mouse. All the cds I received were in GREAT condition, arrived fast and are everything I had hoped for. I've no complaints and am sure to use EBay to complete many more collections in the future! Thanks!
