Synopsis
In the 10th Alex Cross book, the now-FBI agent races the clock as he confronts two prior nemeses in a chilling scenario that threatens both the world at large and him personally. Armed men brusquely and brutally evacuate the small Nevada town of Sunrise Valley, which is subsequently obliterated by a fuel-air bomb. This action marks the opening salvo in a ploy by the vicious Russian mobster known as the Wolf (the villain from the previous Cross novel, THE BIG BAD WOLF). Aided by British murderer Colonel Geoffrey Shafer, aka "the Weasel," the Wolf heads a cabal of terrorists threatening to bomb several major world cities if their ransom demands, which total several billion dollars, are not met within the next four days. Tapped to head an international task force dedicated to foiling this sinister plot, Alex Cross quickly learns that the Wolf and the Weasel's plans also include personal revenge against Cross himself.

Publisher's Note
Alex Cross is back--and so is the Big Bad Wolf.
Terrorists have seized the worlds largest cities. London, Washington, DC, New York, and Frankfurt will be destroyed, unless their demands are met--and their demands are impossible. After a city in the western United States is fire bombed--a practice run--Alex Cross knows that it is only a matter of time before the bombers threats to the other cities are brutally executed.
Heading up the investigation by the FBI, CIA, and Interpol, Alex Cross is stunned when surveillance photos show Geoffrey Shafer, the Weasel, near one of the bombing sites. He senses the presence of the Wolf as well, the most vicious predator he has ever battled. With millions of lives in the balance, Cross has to see if the most powerful law enforcement agencies in the world can stay ahead of these two mens cunning.

Industry Reviews
"Any thriller writer, wannabe or actual, would do well to study [LONDON BRIDGES]....[I]n Cross, Patterson continues to elaborate his finest hero, cerebral yet emotional, dedicated yet flawed, caught between duty and family."
