    This camera is superior at automatically adjusting light. With other webcams, you need to shine lights on yourself to show up properly, but the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 adjusts the light automatically and images are clear and bright, even when I'm using it in my poorly-lit basement. This feature is built into the camera's hardware and when I plugged the webcam into my Macintosh PowerBook, it started working right away without needing to install any software or drivers.

    The only feature that doesn't work on my Macintosh is the face-tracking feature, which is controlled by software you need to install, which is only available for the Windows operating system. I tried the face-tracking software on my PC, but it was kinda silly. The camera zooms into your face for a closeup, and every time you move, it follows your head around. Having more than one person in the picture caused the software some difficulty, as it would have to zoom out to see both faces and would constantly adjust if either of the people moved.

    I found the webcam much easier to use on my Macintosh than on my PC, so I now use it exclusively with my PowerBook and it does a great job.

    LOVE this webcam!! Logitech really delivered on this product! I have had varying degrees of success with webcams over the years, but this one does what it says it will. Excellent picture and sound quality and user friendly interface. My grandaughter has had a lot of fun with the avatars and filters. Well, OK... so have I :) It has thus far performed great in any lighting situation. I used the greenscreen chroma key feature on my pinnacle software and it worked flawlessly with this webcam, way better than with even my home video camera. This is a great webcam and I only wish I'd gotten it sooner! My only cons are: The mounting stand/clasp bracket is poorly designed, definitely needs improvement. The pan/zoom features work great, but aren't very smooth... just hop increments instead of a smooth transition. Those two minor irritations aside, this is a wonderful webcam, and has surely spoiled me for all others. I bought it new from Ebay and saved quite a lot over the retail price so that is another reason I am smiling all the way to my webcam!!
