Logitech QUICKCAM PRO 9000 Web Cam

This camera is superior at automatically adjusting light. With other webcams, you need to shine lights on yourself to show up properly, but the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 adjusts the light automatically and images are clear and bright, even when I'm using it in my poorly-lit basement. This feature is built into the camera's hardware and when I plugged the webcam into my Macintosh PowerBook, it started working right away without needing to install any software or drivers.

The only feature that doesn't work on my Macintosh is the face-tracking feature, which is controlled by software you need to install, which is only available for the Windows operating system. I tried the face-tracking software on my PC, but it was kinda silly. The camera zooms into your face for a closeup, and every time you move, it follows your head around. Having more than one person in the picture caused the software some difficulty, as it would have to zoom out to see both faces and would constantly adjust if either of the people moved.

I found the webcam much easier to use on my Macintosh than on my PC, so I now use it exclusively with my PowerBook and it does a great job.

Great webcam with even greater features. This camera was very easy to install, and even easier to operate. The construction of it is very good. Quality of the sound and the video is excellent. A great camera I am glad to own.

I had previously purchased this model camera for my own PC system, replacing a VERY cheap one that never really worked properly and was difficult to configure.

When I needed 2 more web cams for 2 other comps, I looked around a bit and decided that this one was still the best one for the money!

I had bought the lesser 1.5 mega pixel web cam and found I had a pix elated picture. I was to far away from the camera. With th Quick Cam PRO 9000 I have twice the picture. It just a better more define picture with the 2 mega pixel.

Great price on Ebay and great product. Does everything it says and very clear pictures. Not the best for mounting on a lap top, but you can make it work. Don't want anyone to know you are filming, just turn off the indicator light. Get one and you will not be sorry you did.

We bought this QuickCam because of the enhanced optical technology built into it which makes it superior to the built-in webcams in laptops and most other webcams.
However, it does not have motion detection and the robotics to do tracking etc. Anyway this is the best cam for laptop that we can find.

there are so many different settings for what quality you want to record video at, in almost all lighting it adjusts very well, the mic is ordinary though. i was hoping to be able to record me practicing my dj mixing but it picks up loud music like absolute sh*t, but i you aren't trying to do that then don't even think twice about getting this because it picks up conversation level speaking perfect. The little avatar feature is fun but honestly thats not te selling point, the picture is so clear i love it.

I purchased my camera last week and I am not very well adapted to using the computer. So if I can do it, anyone can! I was able to follow the directions and had the camera going in a very short time. I use Skype to talk to my son at the University of British Columbia. The webcam helps me feel closer to him since we can see each other while talking and this eliminates some of my expense for international calling. The 9000 has a great picture and seems user friendly. This is my first experience with a webcam so I don't know much to compare it too, but I researched it before buying and found several knowledgable people that gave it great ratings. I am very happy with my purchase and would recomend it to other people.

Image is fine and crispy, with HD video setting. It take fine pictures too. I tested it on PC and it works fine with its (support software provided from Logitech). It works fine on a Mac too (no need for drivers on a Mac). You can install 3rd party software, as Logitech does not provide sofware support for this version. If you intend to use it on a Mac only, there exists another version dedicated to Mac. In short it is excellent and most compatible with different systems and programs.

This webcam installed smoothly with no problems, and there are no software conflicts with my Windows Vista system. The camera takes good quality shots of multiple optional quality ranges, from e-mail sizes to a full 8-megapixel photo. The video works smoothly and does a good job in taking footage without any interference, and the lag is minimal. Logitech supports a large database of add-on accessories within its main website, which provide a little fun as well at no extra cost. The autofocus lens system is flawless, and it is quick to adjust to any change in subject distance. The focus can also be adjusted manually if prefered by the buyer. The Right-Light image enhancing system is effective and works very efficiently on automatic controls, allowing photos and video to be taken in a low-light or dim environment while maintaining photo/video image integrity. The stand is perfect for use on either a laptop or desktop, or because of the perfect balance created by a counter-weighted stand, this webcam may even be used as a standalone fixture on a tabletop. My overall review?: This webcam is well worth every penny.

As far as I'm concerned, Logitech can do no wrong. They consistently produce superior webcams and just when you think they thought of everything, they outdo themselves, time after time. This Pro 9000 is easily the best webcam I have ever used. The Carl Zeiss optics insure crisp, color-correct images and streaming even in the dingiest of lighting. The fully adjustable arm/mount/tripod is perfectly balanced for easy placement in almost any web cam set up environment. Unlike other cameras with clumsy clamps that take two hands to operate, the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 simply needs to be placed where you want it, let go and let the camera do the rest! Operation is as breezy as they come with no fussy focusing, adjusting color, lighting etc. This cam is so dang smart it does everything for you! It also comes with software applications for fun special effects as well as the installation DVD and a generous 6' USB2 cable for quick hook ups. I can't imagine why anyone would buy anything else! This camera simply has it all - superior engineering for clean sharp images, sleek stylish design and of course superior quality end results - images, streaming and recorded video. I've even used the Pro 9000 like a regular digital camera to take pictures for those hard to capture times when you just don't have your digital camera handy. Honestly, I can't tell the difference between the images I get with the Pro 9000 from my expensive Nikon 8 mega pixel digital! Look no further! Webcams simply don't get any better than the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000!

Love the ease of installation, styling, multi placement options and camera features, which includes still photos and posting videos onto YouTube or sending via email. Also there is software to video conference into another Logitech product, for free, so you don't have to sign up with other web platforms like Skype.
