The device performs as advertised although the selection of of available pre loaded devices did not include either a Verizon FIOS HDDVR or a Phillips DVDVR. When they do not have the actual device in their data base they attempt to find something similar. The result is you still have to use the original remote for some functions.
I have also found the auto turn on of several devices to be useless. The Harmony will turn on the power but the sending of set up commands is hit and miss due to the time intervals which the various devices require between commands. It is best just to turn on the devices and use the device selection button to manually make the boxes do whatever you want after they turn on. If you screw around with the setup commands by inserting delays you can get the sequences working but it really isn't worth the time unless this is a hobby kind of thing. Since in general you will not know the timing requirements it requires a lot of hit and miss programming of delays.
If anyone is considering buying one of these devices I would recommend you first ascertain if Logitech has the devices you plan on controlling in their data base. If not be prepared to spend a fair amount of time hacking around to get things working such that you can put the original remote controls away most of the time.
The long and short of it is the device is better than having multiple remotes to screw around with. What you end up with is one remote with which you can simulate the original remotes most of the time except for the more esoteric functions. If you want to play around for a long time you can eventually get a function like turn on the TV,turn on the DVR, select the correct input for the TV,start playing the DVD and go to the DVD menu. Achieving all this with the required delays between commands is somewhat akin to pulling teeth, possible but extremely painful.
BTW I am an EE with a lot of experience designing control systems so sequencing activities is not foreign to me. If you are not prepared to spend quite a bit of time getting the programming right stick with your currents remotes.

The Logitech Harmony One Universal Remote Control is truely increddible!! - I love it - Super easy to program - You just need to know what "inputs" your equipment needs to be on for each device. The online setup is very easy after that. The onboard remote help is great for resolving any problems in turning devices on/off/or changing inputs once you have the remote set-up and it remembers what it did to resolve the issue. You can't mess this up. I've set up the once touch feature for 7 tasks: Watch the TV, Watch a DVD, Listen to Radio, Listen to CD, Play the XBOX, Play the Wii, Listen to IPOD. When you click on any of these one touch settings, it turns on all devices and to the inputs that are needed. You can easily change from one to the other. You also have full control over each of your devices individually. My wife can finally turn the TV on without assistance. She loves it too. I don't know why people would spend extreme amounts of money for a universal remote. The Logitech Harmony One, I'm sure, does everything the "expensive" remotes can do. Retail at approx $250 is still a little pricey but man I'm telling you this is a great remote. I found it for about $100 cheaper and I am very, very happy. Good luck and enjoy.

Set up was fairly easy. Once this is set up thru the software, It does everything your old remotes would do. Sleep timer works for both TV and reciver,All my 24 DSP fields are listed and works, all the funtions/Menus for my LCD TV, A/V reciver, Cable DVR works as well as my Blueray player. If you run into a problem and a certain funtion doesnt seem to work the help button works wonders
Once this remote is set up You just have to get used to everything being on 1 remote. Which doesnt take long at all
CONS
You need to have line of site in order for this remote to work. Logitech does not offer a IF extender for this remote.
So if your A/V Reciever, Cable Box, DVD/Blueray are in a cabinet or you dont have line of site. I would suggest a RF remote such as the Logitech Harmony 890 or the 1000 Both of these models give you the option of adding a RF extender.

I can't tell you how nice it is to go from 5 remotes to ONE! I love the ability to define 'macros' (turning on/off items depending on what you want to do). I also love the fact that it is motion sensitive - helps keep that battery charged (it doesn't do any good to have to walk to the charger to change the channel/setup).
I purchased an Acoustic Research remote (with WiFi) and found it to be 1/2 the remote that this bad-boy is! I'm not saying the Harmony ONE is perfect, not quite, but it is very convenient and simple to setup. I do wish there were some added features or methods of adding actions available in menus directly with one push button on screen (macros for menu access with a 'quick key' on the touch screen). I'll email them and see if I'm missing something or if it's just not possible with this remote.

This is a remote I would definately recommend to others. I have a LCD TV, A/V receiver, Verizon Fios cable box, Blue-ray player, media center PC, and 2 video game consoles and am able to control all with the convience of one remote instead of 5. You are able to create "activities" (and name them to whatever makes sense to you) that will adjust all device components to perform a certain task. For example, to watch tv, I can press 1 button to turn on tv, cable box, and receiver to correct input. The remote is smart enough to realize when I watch tv I use the verizon box to adjust channels and the reciever to adjust volume. So you dont have to change funtions on remote to raise volume. My girlfriend loves the fact that she can press "Play Wii" and she doesnt have to change 3 different devices to play Donkey Kong.
Setup does take some time and it is definately more than the 30 minutes that the manual for the remote tells you to set aside. I like the fact that all configuration is done on a PC with a USB cable connected to the remote. Although time consuming, the setup is very simple if you have basic computer skills. Just make sure you write down all your device manufacturers and model numbers. It will slightly speed up the process

Bought to replace my Harmony 880 which I liked but had shortcomings. Specifics : the touchscreen selection for basic functions is easier and faster than hardkey selection; the keys are all bigger and easier to read; the backlighting is excellent; setup is easy and works the first time; the overall layout is significantly improved - much easier to navigate around; it seamlessly handles virtually all of the functions of my receiver, tv, blu-ray player, CD player, digital set-top box, and 2 gaming platforms. My only concern is the rechargeable battery. This function failed on both of my Harmony 880's (not the battery itself but the ability of the cradle to provide a charge to the remote). But that concern aside, I absolutely love this product. It is is by far the best universal remote I have owned (among five). I strongly recommend it.

I bought this remote to get rid of the 5 in my home theater. It controls my lights, receiver, projector, dvd player, cable box. Easy set-up(just pop in the disc & hook the remote to your computer using the usb cord that is provided), easy to use, great value versus the 1100. Be sure to check the compatibility on logitech's website before you purchase. You can enter the model #'s for each of your components. I feel great about my choice!

I have owned "universal" remotes in the past that never panned out or were a nightmare to program and would eat up huge amounts of time to learn. I have yet to find a problem or inconvenience with this remote. It truly defines "universal remote". I control my Samsung TV, Yamaha Home Theater Receiver, DVR, and XBOX 360 with this remote!!. Every function is listed and the full color Touch Screen is awesome. the remote wakes up when moved so it doesn't drain the batteries and the remote is Rechargeabe. It fits well in the hand (left and right) and all the functions are easily accessible with one hand. Even the sound settings on the Receiver are listed on the remote screen as they would be on the Receiver itself!! The XBOX is fully functional from the remote which eliminates using the controller when watching a DVD or Browsing the web.
tech support is the best I have EVER experienced and if the remote is older than 90 days you can buy unlimited support for $29 and if they can't completely resolve your issues they will refund the money!!! Logitech have gotten it right on the ONE. Check their website for details and forums.

This is the best logitech remote so far i have tried 5 different one's. Love them all but by far this one is the best. Very easy to change from one remote to another with the new program. The touch screen is sweet i like it better than buttons and more reliable. I love it now if it could do everything else around the house like clean than i will really love it.

Harmony oneFinally I can have one remote for all my electronics. I like the activities they allow you to program sequences of events, turn on or off the equipment you need for that activity. Can be challenging at time to program especially when you have multiple instruments for one activity.

Great remote for AV systemsI'm really enjoying my new remote. It's pretty easy to set up on the computer and after a few rounds of fine-tuning the settings, it does everything I want it to do. More importantly, it's really easy for the rest of my family to use. My 10-year-old uses it without any problems at all. I highly recommend it.

Awesome remote, prone to failureMany of these Harmony remotes, including the one I bought on ebay, fail. Make sure you buy one that is under 1 year old, because in that case if it is broken, it is under warranty. When working, the Harmony One is an amazing remote I am sure. I did but it after all, after studying tons of reviews. I can't wait to get it back from Logitech.

The Logitech Harmony is a fantastic remote and replaced multiple remotes I had for Satellite, TV and Stereo. The software was easy to install, and one you set up the Macros, it performs functions like listen to a CD, Watch DVD, etc. The Touch screen changes depending on your current operation and is easy to understand and program. I highly recommend this unit!

Great product. I cannot see why others shouldn't purchase this item. It has everything one would need to control the entertainment system in their living room. It is simple to use and have a very responsive touch screen which helps with the ease of accessing your favorite channels while having complete power over the audio, sound accessories, and other components that are at your disposal.

Excellent ProductI have been searching for a solution to control my standard AV components, my PS3 and my XBox Media Center (XBMC) and the Harmony One has proven itself adept at all. The customized actions are great and the price point is right so now I have one device that controls all my devices and even my 6 year old figured it out on his own.

Logitech Harmony OneRarely do I comment on any particular product, but I have to say that the Logitech Harmony One performs exceptionally well. This is my second such unit and it out performs other units of Logitechv by far. I am glad I have it and wish I hadn't wasted my time with the other substandard units.
