THEN CREATE A NEW ONLINE LOGI-TECH'S NEW PERSONAL ACCOUNT WHICH REQUIRES TO CREATE USER NAME & PASSWD FOR YOUR NEXT TIME TO LOG-IN. DURING THE INSTALLATION,JUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AND THEN PLUG THE USB 2.0 TO THE HEAD OF THE REMOTE CONTROL AND PLUG THE OTHER END OF THE 2.0 USB TO YOUR PC. THE INSTALLATION PROGRAM WILL RECOGNIZE IT'S HARDWARE PARTNER.IT'S FOR REGISTERING YOUR HOME THEATER SYSTEM OR JUST REGISTER ONE BY ONE IF YOU HAVE ONLY A FEW ELECTRONICS GADGETS.IT'S USER FRIENDLY PROGRAM WILL DO THE REST OF THE JOBS WHAT YOU DO IS JUST ENTER YOUR DVD OR VCR'S MODEL NO. OR YOU JUST POINT YOUR DVD/VCR'S ORIGINAL REMOTE CONTROL WITH HEAD TO HEAD AND TURN ON AND PRESS YOUR HARMONY REMOTE FOR A MINUTE AND IT WILL RECORD,READ & LEARN THE CODES FROM OTHER REMOTE CONTROLLER. I'VE SEEN OTHER REVIEWED OF THIS PRODUCT COMPLAINED THAT THE LCD OF THIS MODEL WAS VERY FRAGILE AND BREAKABLE THAT COULD BE STOPPED WORKING WITH ONE DROP. I REALLY DON'T THINK SO BECAUSE I'D EXPERIENCED MYSELF THAT I WAS USING MY LAPTOP IN THE LIVING ROOM AND I HEARD SOMEONE RANG THE DOOR BELL. I STOOD UP TO ANSWER. BUT THE IMPATIENT MAIL-MAN THREW THE PACKAGE 20 FEET HIGH OVER MY FRONT DOOR WITH A LOUD POP NOISE WHEN THE PACKAGE LANDED TO THE CONCRETED CURB.THE MAILMAN WAS LEFT. IT WASN'T REALLY A PACKAGE HOWEVER, THE SELLER JUST USE A MEDIUM LARGE ENVELOPE TO ENCLOSE THE R/C FOR THE SHIPMENT. MY HEART WAS SORE WITH THIS ABUSED OF HANDLING AND THOUGHT DEAD TO IT'S LCD. BUT IT WAS AMAZINGLY THE R/C WAS SURVIVED WITHOUT A CRASH AND ALL THE FUNCTIONS WERE WORKING FINE. THANKSGOD!

Very easy to program. Worked all of my components. Buttons are a little close together for fat fingers like mine. My wife loves it. The back light is great for the bedroom.

I enjoy using this and am pleased with the equipment. Once you learn your way around the remote and marry all your remotes into one, it is indeed delightful. I look forward to upgrading to a touch screen next year.

This item is perfect for getting rid of several remotes, it operates everything tv,surround,dvd,vcr,blue-ray,fireplace,garage door, you name it,we loved it so much we have one for each tv, and now are buying them as gifts for family members. Relieves frustration when trying to work all those remotes, cause this one remote does it all,

I bought this as a birthday gift for a family member, so I did not receive the product myself... but my family member stated all was good except it did not come with an instruction manual. I decided to buy it because my brother loves electronics and I thought he would enjoy a universal remote.

I recently purchased this remote to replace my 3 to 4 other remotes for my home theatre setup. I have a 42" LG LCD, PS3, Xbox360, Okyno 7.1 Surround system, and Cable Box. This remote replaced them all and only took me about 20 minutes to set up. Most of that time was finding the exact model number from the equipment. I have not had a problem with the remote yet on any of my devices except the PS3 which you have to have the adapter to make it work. The feel of the button is good but they are a little crammed together which makes muscle memory a little bit harder to master. Battery life has been good so far im on my first set of batteries still and have had the remote about a month maybe a little more. If this remote would ever break or stop working i would definately buy this one again. Im rating it a 4 strictly because i have big hands and the the keys are tough for me to hit sometimes. But functionality and everything else gets a 5.

i like the size of the controller and it is very easy to use...it was very cheap and worth buying...i like the fact it has a screen on it

THE REMOTE CAME IN ABOUT THREE WEEKS..I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT NO INSTRUCTIONS CAME WITH THIS COMPLEX REMOTE, AS YET I CANNOT GET THE REMOTE TO WORK PROPERLY WITH MY DISH DVR RECORDER VIP 722DVR,,YAMAHA RECEIVER HTR-6130,,,SAMSUNG 50"TV MODEL PN50B560 OR A PIONEER DVD PLAYER DV-250...I ASSUMED THAT THIS REMOTE WOULD BE CAPABLE OF TYING IN ALL OF MY HARDWARE,ONCE THE INFOMATION WAS PROGRAMED IN THE COMPUTER,BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE..

It’s as easy to program online as every one says. 10 minutes out of the box and its up and running ( just make sure you have modal # of all your components). The only thing I didn't like was my light,fan control is Radio Freq and the remote does not work on it. I believe the newer models do.

Remote works great, Harmony Customer Service is the best I have ever encountered. Native english speakers, as MUCH time as it takes!!

RE: seller- I was unaware that this was a discontinued model, the package seal was broken (he tests them), no batteries included (again has been on the shelf for 2-4 years and battery shipping didn't make sense). * While the website states "new", lists what it included: cable, software, remote, manual, was correct and truthful. But there is the omission that it was a discontinued, package opened product.

I needed a remote that could control not only my TV, AV receiver, DVD player, Mini Juke Box, and Tivo. I was fumbling with 5 remotes. What I like about the 688 is that you can use the functions on your Tivo too. I like that it lights up in the dark. What is reallly neat is that you use your computer to load all the informaion on your devices from the original remotes to the 688. You can not only load all the device information, but it has activity buttons you can program. If you press "watch tv" then the tv turns on, my AV receiver turns on , and my tivo turns on. You can change channels , conrol the volume, switch to Tivo and its recorded programs. If you press the CD button, the tv turns off and the AV receiver automatically changes to CD and you can control the CD funtions.
I really love this remote. I got rid of 5 remotes and can control all my devices and functions with this one remote. I would recommend it to everyone.

The 688 works great, the buttons are a little small for us older folks, but once you know where the are, it is smooth. Simple to program, easy to use.

Gets rid of the five remotes sitting on the table. Now there's only one.. even girls understand how to switch between dvd, satellite, music and gaming..

I was thinking of buying a Logitech Universal Remote long time and at the same time I do not want to spend $100.

I know that this product is going to ship from China and I just took a chance and bought it. To my Surprise it works Great. I really Loved it after Configuring It.
