This book is not only a good resource but contains information that anyone who is ill can turn to when your health takes a turn for the worse or your emotions or faith are wavering.
The author is a pastor's wife and has a life-threatening chronic illness. Before she was diagnosed she was the one who did it all. Not only was she a strong woman of faith, a wife and mother but athletic, healthy and a teacher until her body became too weak to move.
This book deals with many aspects of having a life long illness. Not only how the person who is sick has to cope with it but how family and friends are affected, how to deal with medical personnel, with pain, with the reality of lifestyle changes, with fear and with maintaining your dignity.
Throughout the book are quotes and Bible verses that can assist you to be more positive or as Mrs. Van't Land says, "an overcomer". There is also a section of resources for people who are ill and for caregivers.
I recommend this not only to anyone with a chronic illlness or sudden physical disability but to friends and family who want to be the best support system they can.
