Live Wire [CD & DVD] by Third Day (CD, Nov-2004, Brentwood Records)

This disc was priced to high, but lucky for me i won it from a local christian radio station drawing. Really good songs with country, rock, and worship combined.

Having been a fan for many years now, I think this DVD shows the extreme effort this band puts into their recordings and their live shows. It ain't easy! It's amazing to me how 5 people, with 5 opinions/views can work together (15 years plus, now) to form a such an outstanding performance, night after night, city after city. I'm not sure i could do it. The behind the scenes stuff just shows you, these guys are people just like us. They experience frustration and conflict too. In the end the finished product, just like all of Third Day's other musical offerings is fantastic. This band truly shows the Love of God in their shows,their dvds and in their personal lives. If you have ever seen a live performance you know what I am talking about. Never seen Third Day live?? What are you waiting for?? This DVD has some pretty funny stuff too. Just goes to show ya... God's people can be cut-ups.
I bought this set to add to my collection of Third Day recordings. I already had the "Wire" cd, just needed the DVD. It's an interesting dvd, love the music and just really admire and thank the "Guys" for being out there doing what they do. God Bless Ya!!

"Live Wire" by Third Day is a solid piece of work.The live disc sounds good with the live versions of the songs seeming more aggressive."Rockstar";and "Come On Back To Me" kick things off in fine fashion.Other highlights include "Its A Shame" and "Blackbird" (i actually like the recorded version found on the debut record better but this is fine to,just different).The cd ends with a rockin version of "I Got A Feeling",a great way to end a concert.
The DVD is from the same show in Louisville,Kentucky.The DVD is better than the cd itself.Its great to see a band as tight and relaxed as Third Day play live.They enjoy what they do.Being able to see the songs from the live cd adds to the whole experience."Its A Shame " comes off very well with the added video being shown on the stage,which gives the song even more of a touching and serious feel.
The extras on the dvd are great also.The rocumentary shows the band during the recording of the "Wire" cd.It is great to see a band sitting in a hotel room reading Gods word together.
All in all "Live Wire" is a good buy.It shows the band in concert and on a personal level.They have a heart for God and the world.And that is one of the great things about Third Day,they bridge the gap between entertainment and Spiritual nurturing making the two one.That is a rare feat these days.

This is an awesome combo for any Gomer. The DVD is so cool, I love "Blackbird" and it's not on the CD. This is a must for any Third Day fan.
