It appears as though Marc Bolan wasn't the only glam icon from the early '70s to have left a plethora of outtakes in the vaults--Sweet had quite a few goodies that never saw the light of day. But come the '90s, the vaults were cracked open and several albums comprised of rarities were released.
Similar in setup to numerous other Sweet compilations issued just before the 21st century, 1994's LIVE FOR TODAY combines early demos and alternate takes of tracks that would eventually become Sweet standards. Highlights are "Fox on the Run," "Action," "Midnight to Daylight," and "Are You Coming to See Me." For fans of early Sweet, LIVE FOR TODAY is a fascinating release.
