  Stellar live Cd from Nirvana.

NIRVANA Live At Reading is a stellar 24 live Cd that features most if not all of the band's greatest tracks captured in concert at England's legendary Reading Festival back in 1992. Overall sound quality is excellent considering that when it came to performing live NIRVANA weren't exactly perfectionists to say the least. Having seen them live, I know from experience that Kurt, Dave and Chris often played tunes live that were perhaps out of tune, slowed down a bit, interrupted by gear destruction etc.. So for NIRVANA the sound quality is pretty damn good. All the big hits are here including "Smells Like Teen Spirit," "Come As
You Are," "Lithium," "All Apologies" & "In Bloom". But this terrific live disc also features fan favs like
"School," "Aneurysm," "Negative Creep," "Spank Thru" and yes even "D-7"! So if you are still a NIRVANA
fanatic like me, be sure to pickup LIVE AT READING. I give it 5 out of 5 stars. Peace-SS

A Reminder About How Nirvana Is Great
Review created: 11/04/09

This live set is substantially better than From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah in my opinion. Maybe this is because it contains more tracks originally found on Nevermind, which has to be one of my favorite albums of the 90s, and potentially of all time. Maybe this is because the sound quality of this album is just better than the 1996 effort. Maybe it's because it contains other live versions of the very same music found on "Muddy Banks" that I'm thrilled to rediscover after leaving that CD stuck on the shelf for years.

Fact of the matter that this new release reminded us all that Nirvana was and still is a rock legend. As far as I can remember, it was in 1992 that the band was on top of their game, by the spotlight everywhere showing all they were all about. And this concert at Reading festival in that year is one great capture of that moment.

"Territorial Pissings", the last track, containing an attempt by Kurt to play "The Star Spangled Banner", is an amazing end to this release. Nirvana fans, don't wait to get this one more album to your collection.
