Album Notes
Personnel: Lonnie Smith (vocals, organ); Dave Hubbard (tenor saxophone); Ronnie Cuber (baritone saxophone); George Benson, Larry McGee (guitar); Joe Thomas (drums); Gary Jones (conga); Clifford Mack (tambourine).
Recorded live at Club Mozambique, Detroit, Michigan on May 21, 1970.
The keyboardist Lonnie Liston Smith and a band featuring the guitarist George Benson plays a mostly instrumental mixed bag of jazz and soul on this 1970 live set, including a Sly Stone cover in the form of "I Want to Thank You," the breakneck bebop of "Expressions," and the laid-back funk of "Play It Back."
