A RARE LIVE CONCERT
Connie Smith live on disc is a first. My only objection is this recording is far too short. Smith, who is one of the most distinctive singers in any musical domain, performs an all too short program that wants you begging for more. From the Cajun-flavored "Louisiana Man" to the jaw opening closing "How Great Thou Art", Ms. Smith is in her element. Like Linda Ronstadt and Connie Francis, Smith cannot be captured effectively in the studio and this budget line item is a testament to her ability to draw an audience to her when she performs. She has always been a sincere and emotion-laden singer that one critic noted "When she opens her mouth, she will knock you off the barstool." This was recorded on a small label and is difficult to obtain, so get it while you can!
