Little Shop of Horrors (DVD, 2000, Special Edition)

The Classic Roger Corman Movie gets the Musical Treatment via the help of Rick Morranis... it's about a singing plant that eats meat and the man that kills to feed him.

I've been looking for this movie in stores for a long time. It was easy to find it on ebay and the seller was prompt in getting it to me. Best of all, the movie is brand new and still in it's original packaging.

The original was a horror...no horror here...this brilliant remake is a comedy, musical. The songs are a little "motown sounding" with a twist of comedy of course.
Rick Moranis does a great job (never knew he could hold a tune) as does Ellen Greene (as Audrey). Hats of to Steve Martin who plays a ruthless dentist and does a really funny number (as seen in the movie trailer). The man eating plant (Audrey II) keeps us entertained as well. A few cameo performances (John Candy, Jim Belushi...) are also included. Most of the story is told through song but there is enough comedy and entertainment here to keep young and and older audiences entertained. Very well done!

love the plot and the music. the all star cast was excelent and scenery was great, this light hearted movie is a must have for any dvd collection and i'm sure the whole family will enjoy it!

Edgy dark comedy with great over the top performances and stellar music. Outstanding R&B soundtrack that will have you tapping your toes while Mr. Mushnik gets dismembered to da beat! lol! Although the subject matter seems intense, this film is actually very entertaining for a young crowd and will come across as quirky and entertaining. If you are an indie film lover this one of a kind film should be added to your collection.

I wanted to see this movie because I liked the actors in it. It was a waste of money! I don't really care for dark humor. It was also kind of sick in parts. Definitely, this is NOT for kids.

Who knew before this flick rick moranus could belt out a tune??? Wonderful and enjoyable film musical. Film first, musical second. Great cast of characters, great revised story from the original, excellent tunes sung by a host of talents (check out who sings in this that currently rocks the music world). This is NOT your mothers musical!! Grab a hoagie and a drink and enjoy!

Based off a short 1960 B-movie of the same name, this is one of the few Broadway shows to go to film! Little Shop Of Horrors has been noted beloved by fans of all sorts. Seymor Cralborn, (Rick Moranis), lives on Skidrow, which in this film looks like it isn't too far away from Chicago based on the cheap backdrop. He finds a cheap venis fly trap from an old Chinese man and believe this is what will bring Musnik Florist's Shop back to business. That is however this plant isn't an ordinary venis fly trap - it feeds on blood! Seymore quickly rises to fame by the man-eating and singing plant, (voiced by Levi Stubbs from the Four Tops). At the same time he has his eye on Audry, (Ellen Greene) who is dating a rather crazy dentist, (Steve Martain). Frank Oz, being the director shot the whole show with the original ending with Audry and Seymore being eaten by the plant. He did a prescreen with an audeince who had never seen it before and got a negative reaction. Frank went back to the drawing board to shoot the alternate ending. (This is eBay, if you're looking for this version with the original ending, I'll let you know I've seen it floating around, so keep an eye out for it!)

This has always been one of my favorite classic movies. I looked everywhere to buy it but was unable to find it, until I looked on ebay. This movie keeps you interested no matter how many times you watch it. I hope to some day show my kids.

Never received the item!!Seller had a great feedback rating when I bid then in a day or two all hell broke loose and they left many people hanging without sending out the items sold.

great "dark" humor, needed to replace a VHS version. Even though, I had some trouble getting this DVD from the e-bay seller, it finaly came. For other ebay shoppers, please consider only buying from sellers using PayPal. I won't shop with any how don't except PayPal. The seller I chose use BidPay, a useless and difficult way to pay. It (BidPay) didn't work, so I sent the seller a cashier's cheque. Then E-bay removed the seller from e-bay, and thinking I'm screwed, didn't think very positive about this transaction. But in the end, the seller was honest, and hope they are back on ebay. So my advise is to buy on ebay, but only use PayPal, it is easy, and I've gotten my money back on other "bad sellers" on ebay.

My Grandchildren LOVE this movie. I could not find it in stores, but thru the magic of Ebay, I am now the "BEST GRANDMA EVER"--The transaction was super smooth, great seller.

Suprisingly, this is one movie I liked better than when I saw the version on stage. Rick Moranis great in the role of Seymour Krilbourne, Levi Stubbs great as the voice of Audrey II.

The cast was great. The musical numbers are great too. I've heard the stage version is good too. Maybe one day I will see it.

Rick Moranis was born to play Seymour Krellborn; his nerdy nice guy role is perfect for him. The songs range from haunting (Down on Skid Row), to hilarious (Steve Martin's Be A Dentist). A musical comedy about a man-eating plant skirts the edge of being too sick, too intense...and, if director Frank Oz had stuck with the original ending (Seymour and his girlfriend die), this could have left a bad taste in everyone's mouth (not just the plant's!) However, by allowing Seymour and Audrey to live happily ever after, the events that precede it take on a cartoon quality. Even children will realize it's only a movie; the evil people get eaten, and the good people get to escape from Skid Row. Excellent entertainment!

Personally, I have not seen this item in use. It was a good price point and my grand daughter and friends have what they call "horror fests" to watch horror movies! So, we added this. I have not gotten any comments to date...

I could not find this movie anywhere in my home town. Got tierd of shops ttelling me try that store etc. Saved gas, just click of a button. Was cheaper than Amozon as well, never been disappointed yet!!!

It is a Classic comedy musical. Love the young Steve Martin. I was able to enjoy it when I was a teen and now am able to enjoy it with my children now. My oldest daughter graduated from High School and wanted a copy to take to the University.

Great movie. I saw this movie a very long time ago when I was a child and wanted my child to see it too. She thought it was hilarious.

Great movie. While the box did not contain any extras that did not take away from the package or the movie. The movie was elivered in a timely fashion. Good transaction.

My daughter loves theater and classic fun theater pieces. She adored this movie and it was a HIT! The movie had famous characters which was a blast to watch in their earlier days of acting even. Steve Martin was so humorous that he stole the show in many ways. Enjoyed the movie and is a must see.
