A Great Introduction to McCay's Work
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
Anyone who has read even a bit of comics history has heard of Winsor McCay. If you have not yet done yourself the pleasure of considering his work, this is a great place to start. There is a drawback in that the page size here is less than half the size of the original pages, so it it sometimes hard to enjoy the brilliant art, but this is a seriously cost-effective volume, bringing together everything contained in the larger (although out of print) series released years ago by Fantagraphics. If you really want to treat yourself, hunt down a copy of "So Many Splendid Sundays" that reprints a smaller collection of Nemo in the full original size.
