A classic animation that is a joy to watch and the songs are wonderful. I find myself singing along with them. I especially loved the song, "Under the Sea" as sung by the little red lobster friend of Ariel, the main character of this movie.
The Movie is loosely based on the Hans Christian Anderson's "The Little Mermaid", and I do mean looosely based on it. It is a fun movie to watch with family especially children and adults will find it amusing as long as they are not jaded and spoiled by the visual effects that are utilized today in making movies. For its time the special efects were fantastic and as for seeing them now, I am still amazed at them.
The storyline is somewhat complicated for little ones but they may be too entranced by Ariel and her friends and family to notice. I enjoyed this movie very much and have watched it over and over! What a delight!
