Jodie Foster's First Directing Role in a Major Motion Picture. Deals with an often over-looked subject~The pressure of being recognised at a very tender age as being "gifted" Little Man Tate is a sleeper of a fim, that some how failed to draw large numbers at the box-office, but is well worth viewing. Must see-film for any Jodie Foster Fan, also great family film as well.

why so much swearing?
) I bought this movie because the plot sounded good and it was pg(i am a 6th grade teacher and wanted something to show my kids at the end of the year). It was a good movie however there more swearing in it than I expected. One kid calls another diper d**k, which is one of the several swear words. So if you are looking for a pg movie to show young kids, i dont recommend this one.

It has been sometime since I have seen the movie.As I recall the story held the attention of the audience
throughout the picture.Jody Foster is a wonderful actress and she was focused onfollowing the directors
feel for the story.She communicated masterfully with the young boy which added power to the movie.The movie was very good and people should make an effort to see the movie.
