Little House on the Prairie - Season 1 (DVD, 2003, 6-Disc Box Set; Special 30th Anniversary Edition)

I grew up watching Michael Landon, first in 'Bonanza', then in 'Little House'. Little House on the Prairie is an outstanding example of wholesome entertainment that the entire family can enjoy. I'm a grown man, but almost every episode brings tears to my eyes. As a Director, Michael Landon knows how to push the right buttons. The values presented are also outstanding. Faith is given a prominent place in almost every episode. They also tackle issues such as racism, child abuse, alcoholism, and other social issues, many of which still plauge societies today...always in compassionate and humane manner. The moral fiber of the main characters is exemplary. I think little house is a beloved series because, even though it's an idealistic and romantic vision of life on the prairie in the late eighteen hundreds, there is enough of the real trials of life presented to always keep it interesting. Little house is a true family show. I only wish there were more shows like it, and that Hollywood cared more about promoting the kind of character and values displayed by most of the risidents of Walnut Grove. Michael Landon was one of a kind. I purchased the entire Little house collection, the pilot, the nine seasons, and the post productions so that my kids can enjoy it just like I did! It's a big hit with my family, and that includes my teenagers. That a Western, which is really what Little House is, can still be so popular in todays world of Star Wars and nonstop action movies, says alot. I expect Little House will be just as popular with my grandkids too! I'm so glad it was made available on DVD.

We LOVE the season 1 DVD set! We bought it and are planning to buy all the sets remaining! Little House is definitely "family friendly". Our whole family enjoys watching each episode together without fear of profanity, obscenity, vulgarity, or anything that de-values the family! The set came new and in great condition. The price was a little under store prices including shipping! We will definitely buy all 9 seasons and recommend them to everyone!

First of all, the series of DVDs was not actually meant for me. A very close friend of mine is absolutely fond - not to say crazy about - "Little house on the prairie" so I decided to buy it as a Christmas present for her. However, it was actually very difficult to find it and a had a hard time in the beginning. Luckily, everything turned out well. I bought the dvds which arrived in a well-wrapped excellent condition. I need also to positively comment on the very fast delivery since I specifically asked to have the dvds before Christmas which was a limited time frame. Last but not least, I decided to buy the first season on purpose - I had to see that the dvds fulfilled my expectations and if I was satisfied then I would go on and buy the rest of the seasons - which I am intending to do in the future.

Wonderfully written and portrayed. This season 1 is true to the books and real life of Laura Ingalls Wilder. A *MUST* if you want your children watching quality tv without all the commercial interruptions.

It was a pleasant package and priced for our budget.We love the series and wanted to start at the beginning.

My husband loves Little House on the Prairie. I always feel good about letting my children watch this series. I like that it has morals and how it shows that people can take care of one another.

These disks came in great condition and in a very prompt manner.

I bought this as a gift for my mom.....she's been a huge fan ever since the show originally aired. The episodes are just as she remembered them. The first few seasons are the best so we're looking to add a few more to our home collections.

I loved this series as a child, and now my father is a big fan. He has never seen Little House, he's from Hungary, and now he absolutely loves it. It was the perfect birthday gift.

We decided to buy the Little House series because my husband and I both enjoyed it as kids and we wanted our kids to watch them too. We don't have cable television and network television doesn't have ANYTHING we can watch together. I have to shut off commercials for shows because they are obscene. We decided to watch an epidsode of Little House each night instead of regular television and the kids love it. They beg to watch more. The first season is definitely one of my favorites. We love Mr. Edwards and his relationship with the Ingalls family.

With all the questionable TV series these days, it is refreshing to watch Little House! Always in good taste, entertaining with lots of teachable moments! Pop some corn and gather the family around the TV for a truly good time!

I love the show have been watching it for years. I wanted the dvd because I think sooner or later the show won't be on tv anymore. LOVE MICHAEL LANDON & MELISSA GILBERT !!!! I will be looking for all the other seasons too.

Those DVD's are old series. I use to love to watch them when I was a kid. They are not easy to find anywhere else but on Ebay.

I really enjoyed watching all episodes and my daughter loved them too!

I watched Little House on the Prairie as I was growing up and really enjoyed it. My toddlers watched a couple of the shows on television and have fallen in love with it too. Every show is wonderful. It lists all of the cast along with the title. They are in chronological order just as they were released on television. It is nice to be able to watch some wholesome television with my children.

My young girls love the series! We have been reading the books together. This series is something we can watch as a family and they always have good morals/lessons to discuss. It's very nostalgic since I grew up watching the show. It's fun to see the shows all in order.

I have been wanting to get the Little House on the Praire seasons and decided to try e-bay. This is the first item I have ever bought on e-bay. It came in great shape and brand new. It was packaged very well and received in a timely manner. I have had a good experience buying on e-bay.

It is very hard to find something on TV that you can actually watch without language, violence, nudity, etc. I decided to invest in the Little House DVDs not only so I can watch them, but my daughter will also be able to watch these wonderful stories that actually have substance to them. I highly recommend the Little House series DVDs.

A must for every Little House fan!!!! It is wonderful to share with your family. Good wholesome television, the way it should be. Brings back warm memories of a time when life was simple, straighforward, safe.

My daughter asked for the Little House on the prairie season one movies for her 12th birthday. I looked around on the enternet for the best price and found them for sale on e-bay at a better price, delivered to my house without having to get out and fight with the weather or the crowds at stores. She loved her gift as well as the whole family and I will be shopping again for the next saeson two on e-bay as well!!!!!!Thank You E-Bay for helping give my daughter a good birthday!!!!!!!

We bought these DVD's for our daughter as a birthday gift. She loves them! Actually, all of our children love them (ages 9 down to 2 and the parents too). These are great shows that provide a much needed alternative for what is offered on TV today. They watch them over and over. The price seems a bit high, but it has been money well spent!

My 12 year old daughter wasn't feeling well one night and I was up with her watching TV. We came across Little House on the Prairie. She had never seen it before and loved it. I would have loved to buy her all 9 seasons but couldn't afford it. I bought her the first season for Christmas and will continue buying each season one at a time. I loved watching these shows with her. It reminded me how much I enjoyed them when I was young and it was wonderful sharing them with her. They are such great shows that teach good values and I didn't have to be worried about inappropriate content. Love this set and will buy the rest.

This is the shows of Little House on the Prairie that I watched as a little girl. It brings back lots of memories about how sweet and sappy these videos are. I love that there is always a moral to the story and it teaches love and respect for others. I bought it so my kids could see good quality tv in place of the junk that is showing now.

Like other viewers, I really enjoy the ability to watch these episodes without having to worry about languange, violence, etc. (especially for my young children). There are quite a few "moral of the story" shows that can be used for reinforcing ideas you try teaching your kids.

I have all 9 seasons of Little House. I love them all! The only thing I didn't like about this product is the fact that you can't select the scene you want. Sometimes I just want to watch the end of an episode and it won't let me fast forward or hop directly to that part. I guess all of the earlier seasons are like that. The later seasons seem to have it. I've been jumping around and I'm currently watching season 6 which DOES have the scene selection option. Overall, I would highly recommend all 9 seasons of Little House to anyone who loves the show. The show is fantastic! (Nothing like you would find on any TV show made today).
