A wonderfully written book that allows a glimpse back to what life was, in a time almost forgotten. Truly enjoyed the journey back through time and really appreciated the author's honesty and joyful spirit.

I love stories of the "olden" days. This is such a well written TRUE story about a very interesting Iowa family. I feel that I KNOW these people. Also, a page of history of rural life during the Great Depression. Very uplifting book. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed reading this..took me back in the old days, and gave me memories, and stories of the past, some of which I knew of, some I didn't. REAL life experiences. Great book.
