One of the greatest George Michael's discs
Review created: 06/27/09

Everybody's got to sell/But when you shake your ass/They notice fast," Michael sings on "Freedom 90." This is a far cry from the George Michael who, with sidekick Andrew Ridgeley, unabashedly titled a Wham! album Make It Big and scored a Number One U.S. single in 1985 with "Careless Whisper," a danceable ballad dying to sound soulful. By the time he released Faith, in 1987, Michael seemed to want more from his music than just sales. So, for his crisp productions of "Faith" and "Father Figure," for example, he concocted silken rockabilly riffs and very simple, effective Middle Eastern bridges in such a way that both white and black kids couldn't miss – or resist – them.

I believe this is one of George Michaels best Cd's...it truely shows his musical talent. "They wont go when I go" absolutly shows off his talent without a doubt.

What all ebayers should be like

This is what ebay is all about. You look for a product, in my case, a CD that I used to own years ago, but lost it when I moved. I found this one on ebay, and decided to go for it. Got it much cheaper than I would at a store, that's IF the store would have it in stock in the first place.

The transaction was smooth, the shipping fast, and I receive, just as advertised a brand new, sealed disc. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it.

  Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1

When this was released in 1990, George Michael was'nt forsure about how to release the album. "Listen Without Prejudice Vol 1" was the title he choosen for the ablum. Which in any since was a wonderful title. The first song released off the album was "Praying For Time". A Song that was written for a different reason. "You have to go to place's that you haven't been before when writting songs" Goeorge Michael pointed out. One of the reason's that I bought this album is because of it's emotion's on the album. Song's like "Praying For Time" "Mother's Pride". Won me over and over again...Love this ablum

  An absolute masterpiece!

Referred to by critics as George Michael's "Nebraska"(referring to Bruce Springsteen's 4track recorded introspective flop)when it was released, this is an absolutely amazing album. From the very first cut to the last, there are no weak spots, but many highs. From the gorgeous "Praying for time", to the dance-a-thon "Freedom 90'", to the Paul McCartney inspired beautiful "Heal the Pain", to the gorgeous "Soul Free" this is simply fantastic example of how George Michael made leaps and bounds from his WHAM! days into what has now become one of the most underrated and underappreciated singers/songwriters/producers and performers of our time. The real gem on this disc though is the final cut "Waiting(reprise)", which is simply an acoustic guitar and George's voice delivering a powerful personal statement lasting only 2:23 seconds. It's pure perfection and needs to be listened to again and again as it works it's way under the skin and sends goosebumps down your spine. Simply put, this album was George giving us a taste of what an incredible artist he was going to crystalize into over the coming years. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! WHAT A VOICE!

wow, this IS a good CD

I rember that George M. sued his record company for not advertising this album properly, and I see why he did that. this CD is a excellent show of George M. true musical talents. It is a very pensive, romantic and deep CD. I feel that this album will make you want to here it then later on you will start thinking about it and want to hear it again. ExcellentCD.
