Synopsis
Abby Chandlis is a low-level lawyer and unknown novelist bent on making her new novel a bestseller. She and her roommate, Theresa, decide to get a male stand-in to act as the real Gable Cooper, her pseudonym on the new novel. Abby's novel and the stand-in, Jack Jermaine, get lots of attention, but when Theresa dies in an accident apparently meant for Abby, the novelist gets understandably unsettled. Where can she turn for help now that she's embroiled in this hoax? Who would be trying to get Abby out of the picture?
