Please check what you are buying. Some Ebay Seller will tell you and sell you a DVD of this movie but it has not been issued on DVD in any country!

The Vhs is a great thriller and wonderful to watch, you will not be disappointed with an all star cast and mystery.

  A Great Movey
Review created: 11/03/06

There is nothing to dislike about this film - the cast is exelant and the movey is fast paced and exciting! I bet they had a great time making this movey! It must have been fun! and it shows in every aspect of the final product! A masterful script done to perfection and it shows the actors skills to a T. It also shows what can be done with B&W film a media far to overlooked today! Its use of filtration to hyten the intensity of the film makes this a master work. There is only one negatieve and that is that VHS tape is not to my liking the DVD has far surpased it and I had to break out the old VHS so get to work and make this movey available on DVD.

Not just a Who dunit, but a, What the Heck!!!
Review created: 11/08/09

This is one of my all time favorite films. It's great fun sitting with people seeing the film for the first time and telling them all the big stars who are in it! "OK," they finally say, "I've seen George C Scott and I've finally seen Kirk Douglas; where's everybody else?" Once you experience this classic, you'll know what I mean. Scott (one of the few Americans who can sustain a British accent) is wonderful as the sleuth. Houston's slight-of-hand direction is amazing. This film is a must have for anyone who enjoys a good "Who dunnit", with a hint of comedy mixed in with the suspense.

  Great VHS Tape
Review created: 11/09/08

I bought this movie as a gift for my husband because he often talked about watching it years ago. He said it's one of the best movies he's ever seen. I was thrilled to find it for sale on ebay. The condition of the VHS tape itself and the cover box are in perfect condition. It really is a wonderful movie.

  The List of Adrian Messenger

The List of Adrian Messenger can be thought of as a light piece
in which the audience is merely challenged to "spot the stars,"
of which there are quite a few in variously effective disguises.
I like the movie as the murder mystery it is, with three of my
favorite actors (George C Scott, Dana Wynter, and Kirk Douglas)
under the direction of John Huston. Kirk Douglas is deliciously
evil as George Brougham, mass murderer, as himself and in his
various disguises. Tony Curtis, Burt Lancaster, Robert Mitchum,
Frank Sinatra, and John Huston himself (of course) make disguised
cameo appearances to add to my enjoyment of the film. I think the
movie is a classic that I'm glad to have in my collection.

The 1962 film was released in 1992 on VHS. Sadly it hasn't been
released on DVD. The copy I got from eBay is in excellent condition,
but it will degrade, as all tapes do. More sadly, its MacroVision
copy protection prevents being easily copied to DVD for archival
purposes.
