Album Notes Southern Culture On The Skids: Rick Miller (vocals, guitar); Mary Huff (vocals, bass, percussion); Chris "Crispy" Bess (keyboards, background vocals); Dave Hartman (drums, percussion, background vocals). Recorded at Kudzu Ranch, Mebane, North Carolina. At once parodic and celebratory, the music of Southern Culture on the Skids is to below-the-Mason-Dixon-Line white trash culture what Jon Waters's HAIRSPRAY is to blue collar Baltimore. Songs like the swampy "Corn Liquor" and outlaw country-ish "Cheap Motel" make the seedy side of life sound like one long party held in the world's most colorful trailer park.
