Album Notes
Personnel: Jim "Reverend Horton" Heat (vocals, guitar, drums); Patrick "Taz" Bentley (vocals, piano, drums); Jimbo Wallace (vocals, acoustic bass); Tim Alexander (keyboards, accordion); Al Jourgensen.
Recorded at Crystal Clear Studios, Dallas, Texas.
Texas' own Reverend Horton Heat packs a walloping punch of twangy Texas backbeat and cowpunk revelry. His third album LIQUOR IN THE FRONT continues his tradition of smokey, roadhouse blues praising the gospel of rock's earliest pursuits: fast times, fast cars, and even faster women.
The rollicking "Five-O Ford" harkens to the days of guitar greats like Duane Eddy, while the vicious "Yeah Right" sounds like Ministry taking a stab at rockabilly. The Reverend isn't fooling around. "Cruisin' For A Bruisin'," while calmer in tone, warns listeners not to "say nothin' 'bout his girl or his car/you just might find the unwinnable war."
LIQUOR IN THE FRONT will establish Heat as the '90s successor to Jerry Lee Lewis' bad boy throne and prove that great guitar rock doesn't have to come through stacks of distortion pedals and effects.

Editorial Reviews
...LIQUOR is a near-bullseye...the Heater's growing legion of inebriated, dancefloor-demolishing fans should be deeply grateful...
Musician (08/01/1994)

3 Stars - Good - ...Imagine Jerry Lee Lewis after some protracted hanging out with both The Cramps and Nirvana and you may be near understanding its leery appeal...
Q (09/01/1994)

Recommended - ...As with [Gene] Vincent...beneath the good-time exterior there lurks a heart that has known the temptations of the bottle, the flesh, and the sorrows of a cold, cold, heart...You can't lick this...
Melody Maker (07/02/1994)

...To quote Reverend Horton Heat's press material `God is not amused, but he is grinning'...
Alternative Press (10/01/1994)
