The Lion King (DVD, 2003, Platinum Edition; Features an All-New Song)

As a parent of 3 under 3, I can't recommend this movie any higher than saying it is a must for every family. Believe it or not all the children enjoy this film from identifying the animals, to singing along with Simba, to enjoying the vibrant colors. This is a heartwarming film, with incredible animation and amazing songs. Worth every cent.

This movie rocks. Probably one of the best adult or kids movies ever. Alot of fun to watch and you didn't want it to stop.....

A classic Disney movie that is fun to watch over again and again. Great fun for the whole family. Simba who thinks he is responsible for his fathers death leaves his home only to return later to his home in shambles. Not that he is king he must take on his evil uncle.

When a film has a scene or scenes you like to replay & watch more than once, to me that is special.
Everytime I watch this film the "What Do Yu Want Me To Do? Dance In Drag & Do The Hula?". I never get tired of that scene.
Great music, a beautiful film.
People of all ages can enjoy.

Over the past ten years I have slowly watched this unprecedented influx of unauthorized Disney products mainly out of print and vaulted Disney dvds.
This has happened because of the large amount of money that can be made on the fakes. I receive emails everyday trying to sell me cheap Disney imports for between $4.25 and $5.85 a copy. When they will bring upwards of $40.00 to $100.00 when represented as authentic. You can clearly see where the trouble starts.
I would like to attempt to help you spot a fake Disney dvd and advise you to report all the items you buy on ebay to PayPal and Ebay regardless of the negative retaliatory feedback or threats you receive from these kind of sellers.
PayPal and Ebay move slowly on these matters but I can assure you they do not want these kind of sellers on their sites and will take steps to remove them.
Things to look for
No Buena Vista stamp on the back of the dvd. Please note if the dvd was bought through a major retail outlet Sears, Wallmart, BestBuy and so forth this stamp may not be on it. However it will have security seals.
The weight of a 2-disc copy will be almost 4 ounces less than an authentic 2-disc Disney dvd.
Cheap cardboard slip covers.
How long has this seller been on Ebay?
Does this seller have over 500 positive feedbacks on Disney products?
Are they selling a dvd for much less than a reliable Disney seller.
No inserts inside dvd case.
Seller with a large number of this rare dvd.
These are a few things you can look for on Disney dvds.
With that said I can tell you that the majority of all Disney dvd buyers do not know the difference between a fake and a real Disney dvd.
The fact that you have a 100% lifetime replacement guarantee on authentic Disney dvds direct from Disney is more than enough reason to invest in authentic instead of cheap copies.
There are many honest Disney sellers on Ebay and the quickest way to find them is run a search on whatever Disney dvd you are looking for and then go to highest price buy it now. They are all within the top 10 of that list.

As everyone knows Lion King is a great movie for children of 3 years and above. This was the best DVD in 2003. With great songs, enhanced picture and sound quality, this makes a great gift and collectible item.

This is definitely a movie for adults. You do not want to teach children that you kill to attain power nor do you want teach them that you kill for revenge. People need to wake up and understand that animation or singing monkeys does not mean for kids. However, it is a good movie and difinitely well made.

Even though I am almost 23, I have to admit that I love this movie. I hated when Mufasa died though, and yes, I did cry. But Zazu (that's the bird's name, right?) just cracks me up on how far up his ass he has the broomstick. I love the songs, (Hakuna Matata?) and when Simba and Nala meet up again when they are all grown up. I loved it! Go see it people!

This was a wonderful movie. My children really liked it as well as myself. Timba and Pumba are so funny in this. I love all the kids and adult humor in it. Its a childrens movie but yet great for adults as well. I even bought the soundtrack since I loved the songs in it.

this one is a classic. ive watched it a million times with the kids. i love it over and over again. its pretty good to get quality time together, and it carries the morals to go along with it as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Based on the 60's anime TV show "kimba the white lion", the lion king shows us Disney at it's best. Solid performances from an all star cast. The animation is wonderful and the storyline is seamless. You can watch this again and again (as I have done) with your kids.

A wonderful story and delightful songs. Appropriate for all (except some scenes may be a little too intense for the very young toodler). Holds adult attention as well as children. Even visiting teenagers enjoy!

Many of the people who write positive feedback to sellers they buy OOP Disney DVDs from arent very good at spotting the obvious... I just purchased this DVD and was so excited because I saw that no one had written negative feedback about the seller selling copied DVDs. Of course as advertised this DVD came sealed. ITS NOT HARD TO RESEAL A DVD! Dont be fooled.

Some tips:

If its sealed but doesn't have the sticker across the top of the DVD box saying the title of the movie and whatever else info those stickers have, its been resealed (and/or is fake).

Second clue.. There are no inserts (fine if its a used copy usually) or no spot for inserts. Regardless of what these sellers say, ALL authentic Disney DVDs come with inserts.

Third.. During scenes in the movie where there is motion (especially fast motion), the image becomes pixelated. If this happens, even slightly, the DVD has been burned/copied and is not authentic.

I know we all desperately want these OOP Disney DVDs, but dont be stupid! You are pretty much guarenteed if you get one of these, that its a copied fake. Sad truth. Lion King and Beauty and the Beast DVDs seem to be especially popular with bootleggers. Anyway, look for the signs and dont waste all the money I see people bidding on these DVDs. They come out in stores every 7 years anyway so most of these OOP ones should be out soon.

Bought the movie because it is my fave disney movie ever; and it doesn't work. not in my DVD player or in my pc. waste of my time.

not original shrinkwrap and not original case.... DVDs and dust jacket seem genuine though..... but I worked in a dvd selling store and I know they are not original packing... Stated in sale Brand New and sealed..... more like resealed and color copied on good paper... I can see the discolor in the title sleeve.

I couldn't believe he told my brand new still in package i have to say that was the truth...till i realized that it was a frickin burnt copy of it...thanks i wasted $23 on it...

We got the lion King dvd because we love the movie. We tried to play it on 3 different players it would not play. It would how ever play on the computer. It had long blank spot(20sec.) just before movie starts and chops off part of the ending.

Lion King is one of the top all time favorites. I has a telling adventure and the charactors are sure enough to make sure you keep up with it. It's fun, it's exciting, colorful, learning movie! My daughter loved it, now my grandbabies love it! You can't get rating like that unless you are a well loved movie! One of the very best!
