i purchased the book to have a hardbound copy in my library. It is a very well written account of probably America's most well known individual. David Herbert Donald's biography captures some of the drama of Lincoln's life, especially the war years.

) Great book if you're a Lincoln lover. Best biography I have ever read. It's not dry like a lot of biographies and history books. It's written like a novel and it's a quick read despite its 600+ pages.

I needed this book for a class and the Campus bookstore ran out of copies. So I decided to look online and I found a used book for less than $5 bucks! Which is amazing since the campus bookstore was charging more than $40 bucks. The book was in great condition and arrived on time.

The author stuck to facts very closely about Lincoln, but I thought there was something missing. I have read and am now re-reading Carl Sandburgs' history of Lincoln and I feel more involved personally in the story. I realize there is some speculation in Sandburgs' account, but it just makes it seem more alive.
