I was never the biggest Nirvana fan, but i love rock and when i first bought this collection off ebay, i wasnt sure if i was getting a good deal or not. BUT believe me it was one of the best deals ive ever made.. I listend to nirvana a few times but never got to hear all of thier great songs, now i listen to them very offten..

If you are a pretty big nirvana fan this set is for. The box set really gives you an overview of the band. Most of its feature is purely historical and there was probably enough good music for maybe 2 CD’s instead of 3. The DVD is definably worth watching. For the hardcore nirvana fan this is a must.

I'm a huge Nirvana fan, and I enjoyed the set for the most part. Some of the content gets repetitive, and I would have liked to have seen more current footage on it. It's a good buy for Nirvana fans, but I felt that there was something missing that could have made a good box set great.

I've always loved Nirvana, and this set is just the beginning of their creative output as a band. It reflects on the intricacies of the songwriting processes of Kurt Cobain, and the growth of the band over the years. I love the attention to detail, even on the rough, raw, early stuff from this set. Plus, I got the 3 CDs and 1 DVD set for $6.00 plus shipping, so it was a steal as far as I'm concerned. I would've paid far more for the same set, even used. I highly reccomend it.

This was actually bought for my nephew, but he thought it was the greatest thing since the invention of the light bulb. Herambled on about how great it was forever..... and he still does. Way cool product.

This belongs in any Nirvana fan's collection. It is the ultimate Nirvana... well anything. It is well worth any price. It includes many previously unreleased songs.

This box set is the perfect collection for Nirvana fans. You get three cds, one dvd, and a booklet. I really liked hearing the rare recordings and demos. This set made me appreciate the talent of these musicians even more than before.

This boxset gives nirvana fans pretty much everything from the beginning to
the end of this legendary band's career....only missing highlights of live
performances....otherwise, everything is there from the crude beginnings to
the masterful music of a genius..
the novice may not like this boxset but the true nirvana fan will love it
and the diversity it provides...the dvd is a bonus.
i give this a B+ and not an A only because it misses some of the energy of
many of their live performances....otherwise, it is all there....

some really good unreleased songs + cool home demos of solo kurt. a must for any nirvana fan or someone who likes good raw recordings.

What I like most about this product is the music on the compact discs. This is not to underscore the quality of the perfect roundness of the disc itself, the printing on said disc, the contents of the digital video disc, much less the liner notes/ photos book. The packaging was also quite lovely. If you like either rock and/ or roll and appreciated the humor of seasons 1-8 of the Simpsons, you too might consider purchasing this boxed set. Conversely, if seasons 9- present were more to your liking, you might consider thrashing about to studio albums of this group. That said, I must admit to watching several of the early seasons of Star Trek Next Generation around the same period that many of the band's studio albums were being released, although I was never upset when I had to miss an episode. I won't be going to the latest Star Trek movie. Not that I don't like movies. I'm looking very forward, in fact, to seeing the new Mike Tyson documentary. Also, please don't get on my case about how I should have just bought this boxed set digitally and saved a tree. I will ride my bicycle to the movies. Recommended.

When I was listening to Nirvana a ton when I was a kid, most of my favorite Nirvana songs were from bootlegs, so I never really had good quality recordings, let alone having them all in the same place. That's where this boxed set comes in! It's got all of the alternate versions and hard to find songs that I've missed for so long. It's awesome to hear the progression of the sound and the lyrics in each version, especially since they have the dates of each track. Some songs take on whole new meanings after hearing where they came from. The DVD is awesome as well, since you actually get to see and hear them practice. This set will make you long for the early 90's, and it is a really awesome collection of some real music history.

This is mainly a compilation of demo's and rehearsal recordings, some of rather inferior quality but it sheds some light on the behind-the-scenes activities we're often not privileged to.

I like that it was in great condition. I love the songs on all the cds. I like the dvd that came along with it and the book. I love that i got it at a great price thats why i decided to buy it! Not to mention the super fast shipping.To sum this all up we love it!

It gives you a more complete perspective of Nirvana. I think I have more respect for Kurt Cobain and his band after listening to this compelation of songs in a less than refined setting!

The presentation of the box is very appealing, not to mention the name, Lights Out. I thought it would be more entertaining and factual into the bands life and that of its lead singer Kurt Cobain. Although I love Nirvana I found it very hard to listen and/or watch each disc in its entirety. It was like watching a person with hand tremors video tape the band in their early years and the CD's were very raw. I'm not saying I was mislead into believing it was something different. I guess I just got my hopes up for something better. I wanted a neatly presented send off for Kurt. Stupid huh? Neat was never a word used to describe Nirvana, yet somehow I wanted that. If you don't mind the way it's presented and you will take your Nirvana in its rawest form than this box set is for you.
