The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan (2006, Paperback, Reprint)

If your a parent whose son or daughter hates to read, and you would love to see them start, have them read The Lightning Thief By Rick Riordan. This is a 7th to low 10th grade reading. But that shouldn't stop you if your older or younger. This book is about a boy named Percy Jackson who has a few issues. He ends up finding out that he's the son of Posiedon the sea god. Percy ends up at Camp Half Blood, a place where there parents are gods. Percy meets Annabeth and Grover his two best friends. Percy, Annabeth and Grover all get offered a very important quest. The quest is Percy and the crew have to recover Zeus' master bolt before the winter solstice. Along the way Percy meets some very intersesting people.
