Lies for the Liars [PA] by Used (The) (CD, May-2007, Reprise)

Most people will listen to this CD and regard the Used as an inferior band. I disagree.

This CD, like their last release In Love and Death, showcases their continuing evolution as a group. The drummer has been replaced, but this guy sounds every bit as good, if not better than their original drummer.

Bert McCracken, the lead singer, no longer screams! I am a fan of some screamo, but I must admit, McCracken is a better singer than screamer. If you are a fan of their first album and dislike In Love and Death, then steer clear from this album. McCracken shows off his pipes more and more and is more impressive on this CD.

"The Bird and the Worm" was the first radio hit off the CD. There may be more, but time will tell. Other noteworthy on the tracks include "The Ripper," "Earthquake," "Hospital," and my personal favorite "Paralyzed."

This album is definitely more up-tempop than their last, but the quality of instrumentation is the same.

Buy this album, you won't be sorry!

This is a great CD.... Their self titled first CD and In Love and Death were definitely great CD's but this CD is a little different and still manages to rock! Their latest CD Artwork is the best but Lies for the Liars still does The Used justice.

i love this cd. its one of my favorites right now. i love the songs with me tonight and earthquake. they're a great band.

This is a great album, and the bonus tracks (Which I already own from "Shallow Believer") are awesome too.

I love The Used. Its an excellent CD. Simple as that. Im glad to have it in my CD collection and to complete my Used collection.

I am a fan of lots of different genres of music and many different bands. I was a fan of the Used's early CDs and I figured I should get their newest one as well. It is a solid CD and I would recommend someone to purchase it, however, it does have some drawbacks. I was not a fan of some of their slower songs, however hit tracks such as Pretty Handsome Awkward and The Ripper make up for it. Those songs are truly amazing and they themselves merit purchasing the CD.

I seriously love this CD.
It's exactly what you'd expect from The Used and no less.
Every song is so catchy and it just makes you want to turn your stereo up to maximum.
And if you have other The Used CD'S, you might be expecting a love song or 2, and don't worry, because one has a couple.

Shipping was a wee bit slow, but I'd buy again. Lies for the Liars, The Used. A------------

I like to support musician's from my neck of the woods whenever possible as this great little combo is. This disc is really a very good listen, and what ultimately sold me is that the first person on their 'Thank You' list is Gordon B. Hinckley....

This may be the best Used album by far! I heard the hit song "The Bird and the Worm" from a friend of mine before I watched the video. It was completely different from anything I had heard from the band before. The album was up for preview on Myspace the day before it was released. I played it all day and decided that I wanted my own copy of it. This album is the best I've heard in a long time. I was very excited to recieve it! Even with the loss of their drummer, Branden, they're still rocking hard to produce cds. They have really experimented with sound and vocals, mixing screamo with emo, hard with soft, and everything between. I hightly reccommend this album to anyone who is a fan of The Black Parade and American Idiot.

Awesome CD! I am a fan of The Used and I wanted their newest CD ASAP. The stores did not carry it, so I thought I would buy it on ebay. Got it fast. I would give the CD a 5 STAR rating.

This cd, in my opinion is thier best yet. I love the single
"Bird and the Worm", but my favorite song on there is
"Paralyzed" it is such an energetic song, makes me want to get up and sing!
This cd is great if you loved the Used, or if you've never heard of them.

I never thought Id like this hard of rock but I do. Unfortunately the lyrics can be dark but at times we all feel that way.

it was sent in great condition it took a bit more time then said but was worth that, but in the i haven't got any fidback while i left the day i got it.

If you are a fan of the old the used stuff then I would say to buy this cd used because lies for liars is alot softer than the earlier two cd's. Lies for liars has a few good tracks like.... the bird and the worm,paralyzed,liar lier (burn in hell),the ripper. But all in all this cd is just ok if you are a fan of the used I would say pick this cd up used.

I am a big fan of the used, i loved their last two albums and i think maybe i was expecting more from them this time. overall i was a little dissapointed with the album but will continue listening to it and hope it grows on me.:)
