I like Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer and they didn't disappoint in this thriller of a movie. There were lots of great scary moments straight out of a Hitchcock movie and that's just the problem with the movie. Some of the moments seemed very familiar. Yes they were scary, but very familiar to any Hitchcock fan The movie lacked some of the originality you always hope for in a thriller. The ending, though, was a surprise and there were definitely scary moments in this movie. Its worth the watch and even more than once. I say, grab the popcorn, sit back, turn out the lights, and enjoy.

This is a very spooky thriller. The mood is ominous. Watch this alone on a dark night for maximum effect. The acting and script is OK.

I first saw What Lies Beneath, a terrific thriller directed by Robert Zemeckis, on TV before buying it on ebay 6 months later. The truth is that I couldn't wait any longer to see it again!! This is one of my favorite thrillers! Not only do Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer do a spectacular performance as a married couple in Vermont who discover that a ghost is present in their house, but the actual storyline has so much depth, that you may find yourself wanting more! There are so many twists and turns, the plot is so original and intense that it will capture your attention throughout the entire 130 minutes of this haunting film.

I especially recommend this movie for anyone who enjoys the horror/thriller genre as the film has an eery feeling (along with a chilling musical score) that drifts through every scene. The horror element is very faint, which in a way makes the movie even scarier. The special effects, although there are few, are brilliantly done and placed in pivotal spots to reel you in closer to the truth of what is really going on in this mystery house.

Ultimately, What Lies Beneath is a great addition to any DVD collection because it provides action and causes you to think. Don't loose the opportunity to see a fantastic film and truly learn What Lies Beneath.

I saw it years ago and wanted it on DVD. "What lies beneath" is a very good suspense movie. It keeps you wondering for quiet some time who is responsible for the death of the young lady and why. Michelle Pfipher does an excellect job of acting as though she isn't sure of what's going on. With events that have happened in the past couple years, it makes you wonder if she is all there or making a few things up. If you want a movie that keeps you wondering til the end this is a pretty good one.

This is an excellent mystery movie -- well cast, well directed and well acted. While basically a ghost story, the small cast provides professionally believable performances, the plot never dragging as some plots do, intensely and consistently entertaining from beginning to end. The backdrop and sets are perfect, unable to imagine what the producers and/or director might have improved upon. I highly recommend this movie, personally giving it two thumbs up, believing other mystery lovers will enjoy it as much as I did. Definitely a keeper in my video collection.

This movie is an on-the-edge-of-your-seat thriller. Great acting, full of suspence, great twists in the plot. You will be riveted.

Great Movie! It not your traditional slasher movie, yet it still does it's job and gives you goose bumps and makes you jump in your seat. This is my second time buying this title since the first copy has seemed to disappear when we were moving. If you're in the mood for a thriller that glues you to your seat and makes you tense up and get nervous with the characters without seeing all the guts and blood on your screen you should really invest in this title.

With Harrison Ford you can't go wrong. Very exciting, edge of your seat movie. Harrison is an excellent actor and plays his part so well.

I purchased this movie 8 years ago. I wore it out on my playstation the old playstations left small circular marks and it will no longer play. Its been a few years since I've seen this movie but I think of it often. One day when I was shopping on ebay I was thinking of what I would like to watch that night before bed and I thought I wish I had that movie so I looked it up and there it was. So I'm waiting for it to get here. Can't wait to see it again and again. So don't pass this one up its really good.

I love this movie. It has you on the edge of your seat the whole movie and keeps you guessing. It is suspensful like alfrerd hitchcock movies

i liked how tense it made you... suspense was top notch!! the movie had many scenes that would make you believe one thing when something completely different was going on. Ford and Pheiffer were both at the top of their game.... acting was superb. the movie was quick paced and believable... until the ending, but that is why you are so surpised. i really thought the battub scene was revolutionary for this time... horror was changing... this movie had the feel of going back to the hitchcock era!

I loved this movie! It was the perfect suspense movie. It was chilling, funny, and it was full of mystery. Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer did great together. I highly recommend this movie to anyone!

This is a great movie for anyone who loves Hitchcock films. I personally do, so I love this. However, most don't. It is not a typical part for Harrison Ford, but he does a wonderful job. Michelle Pfeiffer is always amazing and I personally love her in this movie. Maybe I am just partial to Alfred Hitchcock films...

If you like a good ghost story, this one is for you. Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer are both great in this movie. It is a real change in what I've seen either actor play in before. I really enjoyed it. It is very suspenseful and quite a good mystery too! If you enjoy a mystery, you will really like this one!

I must say that this is one of my favorites. The writing and direction is witty and smart, and even sexy (especially if you're into an older, Michelle Pfifer type). The ending is the best part, and unexpected, and makes this a movie you can watch more than once and enjoy it.

Gore isn't needed to make this scary movie a thrilling watch. Good pick.

This is a good, scary movie. The acting is excellent and it is a real spine tingler. Too scary for little kids so not really a whole family show. But okay for teenager and adults.

A great movie. Harrison Ford did a great job (as usual) with his acting. One of the best movies of his. (Did he ever really make a bad movie)? A great addition to my movie library.
