Liberty and Tyranny by Mark R. Levin (2009, Hardcover)

I had been hearing about this book on various t.v. and radio shows. As a conservative, but more importantly an American who craves understanding and deep knowledge about the underlying factors of America's history and rise to world power, I appreciated this book for its clarity of the founding principles. Should be required reading for any political science course. With so many people naive about the freedoms enjoyed through our liberties, this book is an enlightening ray of hope to further this understanding before it is lost to ignorance and socialism.

Finally someone clearly defines the American Conservative idealogy and backs it up with historical facts.

This book immediantly ties the conservative political movement directly to its roots and those roots are the very people who founded this great country. It further expounds on early Conservative thought processes and philisophical roots and proves that it is that very idealogy that was instrumental in not only creating but is what is critically required in preserving what our founders designed A REPUBLIC form of government. Those that aren't conservatives or just dont understand conservatism should read it and learn. It's high time for the American citizen to educate themselves with books like this and stop allowing political pundits and the slanted Main Stream Media to continue to do their thinking for them or moreover; continue to allow them to brainwash us!

A MUST READ IN MY OPINION

This book is good education. Every American should read it and share what they have read with each other through discussions. It leaves nothing to debate--The Constitution is The Constitution. Our courts have no right to rewrite The Constitution. The legislative and executive branches have no rights to overlook The Constitution and treat it as if it were archaic.

Excellent work and well documented. Should be required reading for all members of state and federal governments.

Should be read by every citizen in the country! Clear,concise and right on the money. Why we can't let the liberal fanatics continue their run on destroying our nation as we know and love it.

This is a well thought out, well-researched and well-documented treatise on how America got to where we are today. Instead of just doom and gloom, he outlines what we can do to give the country back to the people that make it great, you and me.

It is a must read for Conservatives and "Statists" alike.

Mark Levin has written the defing book explaining Conservatism in simple layman terms. How far we've come from the founders principles and what we Must do to regain the freedom and individuality originally intended in the Constitution of the United States. The erosion of our fredoms and outright attack on the things which made this country the greatest nation in the world can not be ignored, or we risk becoming subjects and no longer citizens. The attack on the United states is real and the politicians in Washinton have chosen to appease, ignore and frankly colaborate with our enemies, both within and without our borders. The Constitution laid out certain duties and powers given to the federal govt. They have gone way beyond their authority and are transforming us to a Statist run country, subject to the whims and folies of a bunch of faceless and unelected bureaucrats. This book is now entering the 3rd week on the NY Times best seller list. It is in my opinion, a must read for those concerned about the future of our country, and what freedoms we stand to lose, both for us and our grand children. Please read this important book.

As a concerned American, I need to educate myself about the threat of Socialism to our country. The best way to prepare ourselves against the current administration and the far left,is to educate ourselves. The book Liberty and Tyranny by Mark R. Levin (2009) is extremely well written and gets directly to the point. Any conservative in America needs to read this book!

Liberty and Tyranny contains some very insightful opinions supported with lots of facts and research, some from thousands of years ago. The statist through history always starts out with high ideals that end up stifling the working citizens that he claims to be helping. Mr. Levin makes comparisons of past failed governments, and the current administration; Of how liberty is lost in the name of fairness and the public good. I have bought several copies to give to my friends. It should be required reading in our public schools,especially by teachers. Buy this book! Read this book! You'll be glad you did.

Excellent read, I could NOT put this book down! If you want to be educated on Conservatism or always wondered what the media wasn't telling you, well look no further, 'cuz here it is. Mark Levin backs up everything he writes with cited facts and endnotes galore. A very well thought out text that will be passed on for generations. Man, this guy can write!

Well done book about politics today. Not a fear inspiring book, but one which tracks history and current events.

WAKE UP AMERICA, read and understand this book. A must read for all. This book will clearly show how far this country has strayed from the direction the founders set for it, and what makes America the last great hope for humanity.

Mark Levin has a way of making it easy to see the way political things work - using FACTS! What a concept to use real facts in political writing!

This book was a little disjointed from my viewpoint. That made it difficult to read. There were also some parts of the book where the author's bias seemed to overwhelm the point he was trying to make and since it is his book, that is his prerogative. Some parts of the book were interesting but I found other areas mired in mud, which made it hard to get past. I believe most people who consider themselves hard line Conservatives will appreciate this book but as one who leans to Conservatism, I found it a bit too hard line, not leaving any room for compromise.

As a Conservative American living in such troubled times it is wonderful to have such a wonderfully written "Conservative Manifesto" that truly displays our Forefathers intent for coming to the Americas, creating the Constitution and Declaration of Independence and most importantly fighting so hard for our Inalienable Rights. We have come so far from the original intent of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Never has it been so important for us all to be reminded of what it means to be American, Conservative and FREE! Thank you Mark Levin. You are truly a wonderful American. Your book is amazing!

It is a straight to the point, no holds barred, source of information for the current political nightmare we are facing. I bought it to stay informed.

i bought this book to be used for my son's history in home-school. It focuses on our founders, the constitution and the true conservative movement.

The media, history books, and liberals do not want Americans to read Mark Levin's truthful words. Please Americans read this book!

A very good book. I was looking for something that helped make sense on why things are happening in politics all across the USA . It is worth reading.

Wonderful book! I bought this book for myself I have learned a ton from it. It made a wonderful gift for my dad for fathers day! Better than a tie or stupid T-shirt. Mark tells it like it is! I recommend this book to everyone and anyone who is brave enough to read it!

Turn off the TV Put the cool-aid down and start reading and learning about our nations history! :)
