Lexmark Jet Z515 InkJet Printer

If you are looking for an affordable, yet reliable and heavy duty enough for a small business, then look no further. This is a very good color and black & white printer, used my digital camera and printed out my sons school pictures this year. Except for the background, they came out just as good! My main reason for purchasing this printer was so I could print out labels, forms and postage on a daily basis in black and needed a printer that could do it. This printer is a heavy duty, what I mean is its Monthly Duty Cycle is 2000 pages per month, most printer of equal price and even higher only have a MDC of only 1000 pages per month. This makes this printer a even greater value for the money. I have to be honest tho on the cartridges, they can be spendy, so you need to shop around. Personally, I refill my cartridges, so it is inexpensive to me. There are two sets of cartridges for this printer they are:

* #26 Color (High Yeild)
* #16 Color (Less expensive-less ink)
* #27 Black (High Yield)
* #17 Black (Less expensive-less ink)

NOTE AND HINT: ALL INK COMPANIES ONLY FILL THERE CARTRIDGES HALF WAY! I HAVE FRIEND IN RE-FILLING INK CARTRIDGES BUSINESS AND I HAD HIM SHOW ME BY OPENING SEVERAL BRANDS EMPTYING THEM AND REFILLING THEM, I BECAME A BELIEVER ABOUT THIS! SO THE BUYER BEWARE. JUST KNOW NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO AND WHAT BRAND YOU BUY, THEY ARE ONLY HALF FULL. I COULD HARDLY BELIEVE THIS UNTIL I SAW IT WITH MY OWN EYES AND WAS SHOCKED TO FIND THIS OUT(This statement eventho true is my opion and everyone should form their own opion on this subject).

So my advice on ink cartridges is you buy a new one of each, then buy a refill kit and refill them yourself, or if you dont like the idea of refilling them yourself, go to a business that does. It is still 1/3 to 1/2 off the price of going out and buying new ones everytime one is empty.

Was pleasently surprise to open the package and find a brand new printer for $3.99. After one month of this purchase I am still bragging to my friends and family about my "steal".

This printer does everything you expect from a printer.

Lexmark's driver takes the extra step of adding a print console in which you can control settings such as print quality in an easy to understand display panel.

The cartridges are a little on the pricey side, however, they have a built in print head. Every new cartridge = new print head. No more degradation of print quality over time if you buy new, non-recycled cartridges.

This is the best 'economical' printer I've owned. I'd buy one again.

The most obvious thing about this prooduct is the price. I bought mine for .99. It cost less than a hamburger, and is an excellent product. It has a very fast printing speed when printing in black. The only thing I would say even remotely comes as a con is the color printing quality. I'm not displeased however, for .99 cents I wasn't buying a photo printer. For normal day to day use such as printing out emails and web pages, I haven't seen anything compare.

I bought this printer as a gift for my mother for christmas. The price was very reasonable that I purchased it for, but unfortunate for me, the ink cartridges were taken out of box. I had to purchase the ink cartridges seperately. The black ink that goes with this printer is $30.00. Little too salty for me. So the printer was a good price, but ink seems a bit high. Quality of print is average.

The size and funtions of the unit make it possible for me to use in my Motorhome as i travel which is the reason for the purchase of a compact unit. So far it hase worked out just fine.

I purchased the Z515 Lexmark in hopes that it could be used on my old I-Mac G3 computer. I was dis-appointed to discover it would only work with OS X 3.8 or higher. On the PC side it ran smoothly and software seems to be rugged and does the job for a large company. It even is capable of networking. But with 9.2 and 2.8 Mac, it just won't work and customer service didn't really show any concern that I was deceived of their marketing practices. Also a sign of days competetive nature. "Who gives a rip, as long as we make a buck."
Although I can no longer print with my I-Mac even with my new HP D7260 for it too has the same clause of X 3.8 or higher. And I'm certainly not going to bend over for another Epson 82 that did work. It's been over 2 months and I still don't have to change the ink cartridge!

The Z515 printer is a very good basic printer for both black and color copies. My only complaint is the capacity of the black 16 cartridge is low. I print 15-20 copies per day and the black cartridge ran out after 3 weeks. My former Z45 printer (which lasted 3 1/2 years) only needed a new cartridge(70) every 6-8 weeks. I bought the printer for $6.98 plus $8.00 shipping. Considering the price, I don't have any complaints.

i bought the ink jetZ515 Printer because i needed one it was a very good buy . it works great . I dont like the fact it uses so much ink so fast, but over all if you need a printer just to print very small amount of things only the basic things it is an excellent buy

This printer works great. It was very fast and easy to install. Uses ink cartridges 16/26 or 17/27. I like that it prints great quality photos and quick print works great using less ink when printing text.

I already have one and is working great, I got coupons from office Max to purchase ink for 12 months and each month is a 50 dollar value,so if my printer goes bad,I have an extra plus plenty of ink and my kids going to college will alway be printing.Beside very inexpensive.

The thing I disliked is the ad said ink cartridges were inculded and the printer did not have ink supplies. The seller did not respond to my request to send the cartridges.

Seller claims to ship immediately. This is false.

Paid for the item immediately by money order, as specified by seller. After three weeks lapsed buyer contacted seller several times. Seller gave very poor excuse for his delay in shipping, but still did not receive item for more than a month after payment was received.

We bought one of these on eBay, and when it was installed, it kept giving us the error that the computer could not communicate with the printer, even though a test page was successfully printed. It kept happening, so we bought this second one thinking there was something wrong with the first one we bought. The same thing kept happening after installing the second printer. The Lexmark Technical support was contacted, and they could see the problem, and they said there was some sort of incompatibility between Lexmark and Microsoft software. They continue to investigate the problem.
This printer was bought so a color printer could be available in addition to the black and white printer already installed.
It is very disappointing to have this kind of trouble.
Other than that, we like the compact size of the printer, and the quality of the prints that do get produced.
Having to buy a separate USB cable to hook up to the computer is a pain as well, it should be provided with the printer.

I like that the price is low. It does the job that I expect it to do quite well. Nothing fancy but really affordable.
