Lexmark Jet Z45 InkJet Printer

This printer is a work horse! It prints on many different media types with awesome quality. Have compared this printer to many newer ones on the market today and it works as well if not better than all the rest. From regular printing to pictures or transparencies, this printer won't let you down!

Product has been discontinued. The Lexmark Z45 color printer uses two ink cartridges. #70 is B&W and #20 is color. I found the printer (new) at a local warehouse club on sale ($45.00). At that time, the printer was discounted (deeply) due to being discontinued.

Overall, the printer has been dependable and durable. I've printed tax returns (Federal and State), owner's manuals, personal documents, reports, pictures, business cards, and the list goes on.

I've never had a problem or issue with this printer. The software installation and software upgrades (at Lexmark dot com) have been easy to install/upgrade. The printer normally remains off (idle) on the computer system until a print command is sent. The printer turns on and then begins printing. The voice "Printing has started" is kind of cool and the ink gauges indicating ink level is a nice feature.

I've had other color printers and the durability/long term use have not come close to this particular model. I must admit, at time the printer has been abused. Young toddler fingers turning off the printer in mid-print, younger children accidentally printing heavy duty ink pages (large graphic comics for example) and adults printing large documents have never caused the printer to fail.

In the good ole days of MS-DOS, I remember buying a 24-pin dot matrix printer for over $300.00. Those days are long gone and purchasing this really nice printer at a bargain price was a pleasure. For the money I've paid, this printer has earned its keep in my household.

There are no plans to replace this printer (upgrade) at the current time. The printer has been working really well. If something should fail, I will replace it with another Lexmark brand printer. This particular one (Z45) has been really dependable.

I would hesitate on buying a used printer (even Lexmark) unless I could determine its proper operation. Prior to purchasing, I would check for the printer software and software upgrades. Most printers do not have an easy life and many users do not perform any TLC on the unit.

it took longer by usps.ups would have done it in 3 days compare to 5 day the other way.I did request ups but was shipped usps.thanks for the printer.

I have three computers in my home and a Lexmark Z45 is on each one. The printer will produce very nice photos and an acceptable print speed. I can stock fewer replacement cartridges. I gave it a 4/5 rating because this model has been discontinued.
