Synopsis
Anthony E. Zuiker, the creator of the television franchise C.S.I, and renowned comic book writer Duane Swierczynski present the world's first "digi-novel," featuring online codes which allow readers access to a website where they can view video sequences from the book and discuss the clues with other readers. The action revolves around Steve Dark, a spooky specialist in tracking serial killers, who leads a secret government task force dedicated to catching the world's deadliest criminals before the general public ever learns of their existence. Their latest target presents a special challenge, since he sheathes his entire body in a rubber suit in order to prevent leaving any forensic evidence behind. The video scenes, starring veteran character actors such as Bill Duke and Michael Ironside, are not integral to the plot of the book, but they succeed brilliantly in heightening the disturbing atmosphere of the story and enhancing the sinister effect of the text. The innovative Zuicker promises future installments of the story, which will be guided by the readers' reactions and interactions online.
