You know how when you hear a song on the radio for the first time, it might catch your ear. The second time you hear it, it seems more familiar, but you're not sure where you heard it, but it's kind of catchy. The third time you hear it, you're listening trying to find out who the artist is. That's the way it was with this CD. I came in to work one day, and a co-worker had listened to a song on the radio that I had just listened to, and I had to know who it was. I got a one word answer, "Feist". That started a search on eBay for the least expensive Buy It Now I could find. The song was "Mushaboom", and the rest of the CD did not disappoint. Leslie Feist has a very sultry, jazzy voice and styling that I found to be very interesting. The cover of the BeeGees song was strangely different, and is probably the most kicked up song on the entire CD. All of the other songs are much more subdued and slow paced, which certainly isn't a bad thing. You have to be somewhat in the mood, and like the slow paced style of a smoky jazz bar to appreciate her style, but in my humble opinion, is very cool. Remember the song "The Girl From Ipanema"? It's a lot like that. In fact, that is almost exactly what she sounds like. Very sexy sounding. While it can be said that I have purchased CD's in the past to acquire a single track (and this time was no exception), I went out on a limb when I purchased this, and the limb didn't break. I don't know as it will make my top 10 list or anything, but I feel it will be a great addition to my collection. I think I'll just keep this one....No eBay fodder here.
