Les Miserables - In Concert (DVD, 1998)

I have seen the musical Les Miserables many times and always loved the music and the story. This production is not a play but a musical performance...but the singers dress and act like the characters they are portraying, and it is easy to understand what is taking place in the story as the concert progresses.
The singers have beautiful, powerful voices (including the huge chorus)and the
orchestra is fantastic. Very enjoyable, and something I will watch over again more than once.

Because of my dealings with suponpara@yahoo.com, I am considering no longer dealing with Ebay at all. I have never seen a bigger collection of conartists that seem to operate within Ebay. There do not appear to be any legitimate auctions. In virtually any transation, you are bidding against shill buyers.
In addition to this, you give the buyer virtually no protection. On June 16, I paid the seller through PayPal. Three weeks later, I received a defective disk (the disk actually pauses and does not play one song). I immediately contacted the seller. The seller admitted that there had been numerous complaints about this disk shipment. He asked for me to give him some time to find a new disk. I gave him that time because he had an excellent rating as a seller. Apparently those seller ratings are phony as well -- another consequence of shill buyers rating the sellers. Also, the buyer is disadvantaged if PayPal pays on sale since it takes a long time for something to be delivered from Asia.
I am not in the business of losing $45. Your operation appears to be run by sharks that take advantage of suckers. I am definitely not a sucker, but I was a relatively inexperienced buyer.

I have dealt with Amazon and their merchants for years because I receive a guarantee of both delivery on time and in excellent quality. Apparently, Ebay is not that kind of business. Stop sending me ads about your socalled sales. I no longer wish to be involved in any transaction with Ebay and your emails will be labelled as spam.

The only way you could possibly get some goodwill back is to resolve this transaction to my satisfaction. However, I doubt that will happen. Your company lives under the philosphy that "a sucker is born every minute".

But I do know a journalist. Perhaps bringing these facts (including the emails and the seller's "rating") to light will help remedy this situation. Sunlight might be the best disinfectant.

P.S. I really "enjoyed" writing this review not knowing I could not complain about the transaction. And I could not find a place on Ebay that I could. You really are one of the most foul companies I have dealt with. I am now considering reporting this transaction to my state's attorney general, Jerry Brown. I think he would be interested in corporate malfeasance.

I would love to give you a AAA review, although the last item that I purchased on ebay never has arrived. 5 weeks ago I ordered the Les Miserables CD, I paid through pay pal, my account was charged although I have not received anything. I have written the seller repeatedly, written to you and pay pal to hopefully receive a refund or the item in question. Unfortunately, this seller has ignored my emails and evidently does not possess the integrity of a responsible business owner. I am sorry to say I am quite disappointed as all of my other purchases on ebay have been very favorable. I would hope that this can be resolved so my faith in your service can be restored.

I decided to buy it late December 2006. The sel;ler said it was in stock. To date (9 Feb 2007) thew only thing I( have gotten is two or three e-mails from the seller saying he has problems and can't ship. He offered to cancell the order but I want the DVD so I am sticking with him. This is my first venture into e-Bay. I used PayPal to make the order. His performance as far as I am concerneded is disappointly poor.

I would be happy to review this product if I ever receive it. I would be very happy to review this dvd if I ever receive it.

Placed bid for copy from China. I received a NTSC copy, not a region 1 as advertised! It's questionable if it is a bootleg or not because it didn't come with a case. The seller provided the box cover and holder inserts; however, I had to bend them as they have never seen a DVD case before (smells freshly printed too). Menu does have selections for Chinese or English to choose from. None the less, it's still a great copy of the show! However, if you want an official region 1 copy, you'd better shop around or wait for a sale within the U.S.

I never received this product. I sent three e-mails to the sender and never received a reply. I will not buy on ebay again.

I cannot review this product because although I paid for it over a month ago, I have not received it. The payment was made in good faith but the seller has not delivered.

Printed in Asia and not sure if it is legal copy. NOthing in Seller remarks. Wouldn't play on my computer without download of another program.

4 JAN 2008: I made my order in early December 2007. I have NOT received my order, although I have been charged for the item. My inquiries (3) to the seller have NOT been answered. I am in the process of filing a claim for reimbursement against the seller, through PayPal.

Because of this experience, I will not be buying ANYTHING ANYMORE from sellers that are overseas.

Les Miserables is one of my favorite musicals. I saw it once and really loved it. I wish I could see it again but until then, I like watching Les Miserables In Concert. It is not the same as the stage musical, even though the music is the same. Many stars of the musical are in the concert playing the parts they are famous for. Since I saw the musical on stage, it was easy for me to follow and enjoy. My friends that watched the concert with me, on the other hand, got lost and didn't understand the story and couldn't follow what was happening. By the third song I had to start explaining what was happening in the story. I will recomend this DVD for anyone who has seen Les Mis on stage, but if you wish to buy DVD and have not see Les Mis on stage, then I will recomend you do some resarch on the plot of the musical. A sipnosis of Les Mis that names all the songs that are sung throught the musical will help you better understand the story and even the characters. Otherwise, this is a very good DVD with wonderful music of a classic and very popular musical.

This DVD was a PBS Special in 1998, and is now out of production. This copy was sold through a vendor in Thailand. The vendor had great communication. The product was sold at a very fair price. Shipping and handling charges were what I also considered reasonable. The DVD was shipped in a timely manor.

Do to issues with the DVD, it would not play all the way through. I have returned the item and requested a refund from the vendor. I am waiting until the transaction is complete to leave feedback for this vendor.

I absolutely love this show. Watching the DVD of the dreamcast is the closest that you can get to experiencing the magic of the stage production. I have seen the show live several times and I just cant get enough. The music is so powerful and the performers are incredibly talented. Perfect for an evening of viewing or just to play in the background, the music is spectacular.

The product (DVD) was a pirated copy with sub-titles in ENGLISH!! I have since purchased a REAL DVD locally...watch out for the "unknown".

I bought the dvd because Ive owned this concert on vhs and have loved it so I wanted it on dvd before my tape wore out. I was very dissapointed in this product when it arrived I was unable to play it for more than 10 mins before it started to skip and freeze.Its not my machine because everything else plays just fine. I havent been able to contact the seller so I guess Im just stuck with it.

Don't think you really want to hear from me. The SOB who sold it to me took my money (via Paypal) and is now, it appears, no longer a member of ebay. What can you at ebay do about it?

I love musicals! When my mom was dying of cancer in 2001 we would watch Les Miserables everyday. It was her favorite. I have played this DVD on a monthly basis just to feel closer to my mom. It is also my favorite. My original was getting wore out and I was thrilled to have found it on ebay.

I really enjoy the musical "Les Miserables" and had a DVD of the 1998 concert. I lost it during my move and tried to find another copy. The only copy of the 1998 concert to be found I found on Ebay. I pruchased it from a seller from over sea's. I got the DVD for a very good price and it was shipped and recieved in good time. Especially since it came from over sea's. I am very happy with the whole transaction.

This is such a great storyline! The music was awesome! Years ago I saw the London Anniversary production and fell in love with this musical. I highly recommend this one,especially for those who are just being introduced to Musicals. Easy to follow, wonderful!!!

This was the tenth Anniversary concert of Les Miserables with the dream cast from Royal Albert Hall in London, England. This product was received from Thailand in good condition in a timely manner.
