The Lens Book is excellent!

This book clearly and concisely defines the various lens options available for the 35mm Single Lens Reflex cameras and gives examples of where each lens is useful.
Since there are two authors, it also provides two different, usually contrasting, viewpoints, which is very useful as it allows the photographic reader to compare both methodologies to his/her own.
The Lens Book also gives specific examples of good lenses, and of bad ones, with photos resulting from each, along with when and why you might choose to use a bad lens.
I had read the local library's cop several years ago, and had been looking for my own copy ever since.
This is the book that started me on reading Hicks/Schultz's other books, and is (I believe) the last photography title I needed.
In short, I recommend it for all photographers.
