Legion Arena (PC Games, 2005)

Having been a Beta tester for Slitherine when they were developing this game as a successor to 'Legion' their previous release in similar vein. I was very pleasantly surprised by the finished product. I had had to give up on the beta testing due to changed work commitments so just how good it ended up is impressive, it gives Rome Total War a run for its money - but is on a more detailed level - less of the huge strategy and more of the blood and guts. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone interested in Roman history and computer gaming, you will find it addictive - dont just expect to be able to sit down and play for just and hour, first time I tried it I was dragged off the PC 6 hours later in the small hours of the morning.
