Known to gamers only through a concept deno at Space World 2000, this unreleased chapter in the Legend of Zelda franchise was a work-in-progress technical demo for Nintendo to promote the GameCube platform. In the demonstration, a realistically-modeled Link and and his nemesis Ganondorf battle with swords in a gothic castle setting. While a stunning demo, Nintendo decided to scrap the visual style, setting and character models used in the demo and go with an entirely different concept for the real first GameCube entry in the series, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
