This time around, Frosty springs to animated life in the gloomy town of Evergreen, where the authoritarian mayor, Mr. Tinkerton, has outlawed all forms of magic. With the help of Tinkerton's sons, Charlie and Tommy, as well as friends Sarah and Walter, Frosty sets out to reawaken the town's belief in magic and wonder--despite the foul play of his nefarious nemesis, school principal Hank Pankley. Warm and engaging, this sure-to-be classic boasts fun musical sequences and supporting vocal performances by SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS' Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke.
FROSTY THE SNOWMAN: Jimmy Durante narrates this classic tale about a snowman who is brought to life by magic. Karen (June Foray) is a lonely girl. Neglected by her parents, she spends her time building snowmen. One day, she discovers a mysterious hat rumored to be the property of an evil magician. Karen wishfully bestows the snowman with the hat and, to her delight, Frosty (Jackie Vernon) magically comes to life. Frosty and Karen quickly become the best of friends, and there seems to be no end in sight to their good times--until the sun threatens to melt Frosty. Accompanied by Karen, he sets out for the cool refrigeration of the North Pole, but when the evil magician learns of their plans, he's hot on their trail. Once again, Arthur Rankin and Jules Bass deliver yet another heartwarming holiday Christmas tale. Originally aired in 1969, FROSTY THE SNOWMAN has been rerun on network television ever since. Film icon Durante lends appropriately cool vocals as the storyteller of the much-loved movie, which is based on the popular song of the same name.
