I plead with you, don't buy the hype of this game. Is the game fun? Sure, for the 3 hours it takes to beat the game. This is going to be a short review, cause the game is so short, there's not much to say.
There are 4 campaigns. Each one takes about 45 minutes to beat for a grand total of 3 hours of gameplay. You can play through them a couple of times, but then it just gets old. Games like Call of Duty and Halo are still fun to play on the hardest difficulty, they're just challenging. Well, Left 4 Dead on the on the hardest difficulty is just frustrating. You die in about 5 hits and when 30 zombies are coming at you, it just pisses you off.
The online is dumb. It's just two teams taking turns being the survivors. The other team are zombies, which seems like it would be cool, but you die so fast. You spend 5 seconds alive and 30 waiting to respawn. So it all boils down to you watching the survivors play. Fun, right?
Overall, Left 4 Dead feels like it should be an arcade game for $10, MAYBE $15. I mean, Castle Crashers has more depth to it than this game. This game doesn't even have a real story. I'd just rent this one.
