Led Zeppelin IV [Remaster] by Led Zeppelin (CD, Jul-1994, Atlantic USA)

Led Zeppelin IV - this is a monster album. This one propelled them into super stardom. 'black dog', 'rock -n- roll', 'stairway to heaven'. Everyone knows half this album already even if your not a fan. This is a must have.

I've owned this in 3 forms now, vinyl, cassette and cd. It is a classic and every fan of hard rock should own this (in my humble opinion). I especially like the "B" side of this release "Misty Mountain Hop", the acoustic masterpiece "Going To California" & the awesome, bluesy "When The Levee Breaks". If you don't own this then you should consider getting it.

When the legendary British rock band Led Zeppelin debuted in 1969, they were on their way to becoming one of the most powerful acts in the business. Their self-titled debut album introduced their sound to the world. This would be followed by "II" and "III". However, it was "Led Zeppelin IV" that showed them at their creative peak. All 8 songs on this album remain rock classics, becoming FM radio staples. "Black Dog" was issued as a single to promote the album and is noted for the title not appearing in the lyrics; "Rock And Roll" is exactly what is says; "The Battle Of Evermore" has an almost unearthly feel about it; "Stairway To Heaven" is rock's all-time greatest song; "Misty Mountain Hop" moves along at a rapid pace and was also released as the B-side to the "Black Dog" single; "Four Sticks" was literally played with four sticks by drummer John Bonham; "Going To California" is the album's quietest song; "When The Levee Breaks" displays the band's blues-oriented influences and is a perfect way to close this fine album. Many Zeppelin fans consider this album to be the group's finest hour. With such a diverse line-up as such like these, it is easy to see why. Just when it seems as though this group of British rockers could not possibly top themselves, they would go on to release four more remarkable albums; "Houses Of The Holy", "Physical Graffiti", "Presence" and "In Through The Out Door". The decade of the 70s belonged to Led Zeppelin, and "Led Zeppelin IV" has many wonderful moments on it that place them in a class all by themselves.

The first four songs alone could sell this album. Stairway to Heaven and Black Dog are all time classics. Have you noticed the "Lord of the Rings" lines in The Battle of Evermore. Buy and listen for them.

A great album. Perfectly mastered. As powerful today as it was in '71.

Got the CD in very good time. It arrived in good condition and will be very enjoyable to listen to!!! I would be very pleased tto do business with this person again!!

It's as I can got to be one of the best albums they made. I have been buying up as much of the music I loved when I was a kid, but on CD's of course. This is just the latest instalment. I have also got "In through the out door" and "Houses of the holy". They are all excellent and take me back to when music was both unique sounding creative and current with the times. Add to this the Pink floyd cd's I recently picked up and I am in heaven. You gotta love it!

First, the pros:
This is an excellent, classic album from Led Zeppelin. You should definitely have it in your music collection.

Now, the cons:
DO NOT buy this album on Ebay, unless you are extremely careful. Here's why: this album is almost always advertised on Ebay as the 1994 "Remastered" version, which sounds far better than the original CD (not true for all remasters, but it is for the LZ ones). This is partly the fault of the sellers for not being attentive, but it's mostly EBAY's fault for making it "easy" to list CDs, but then only having the remastered versions listed. Sellers with the old versions type in what they have, Ebay pulls up a listing for the remaster, and the ignorant sellers, probably not knowing (or not caring) what a remaster is just accept that.

Buy your LZ CDs from local used record stores, so you can look at them carefully to make sure they really are the remasters: they'll say so on the back. If you're careful, you can buy them from sellers on Ebay too, but only if they post actual pictures of their CD, not the stock photos that Ebay provides. Ask the seller beforehand to make sure you're getting what you think you're getting.

First off, this album was officially untitled. Some of it's names were "Led Zeppelin IV" and "Zoso." My e-bay name came from this album (ZosoRules1), so I figured I should pay tribute and review the CD. If you like classic rock, you will LOVE this CD. I have a few vinyl copies, 8-Track and CD of this and each one brings alive the music of Page, Plant, Bonham, and Jones! It includes the infamous Stairway to Heaven and the Battle of Evermore. If you are reading this review, stop now and just buy the CD!! You can even listen to Stairway to Heaven backwards to get the hidden messages out of it!! To do this, record some of the key parts of the song, mostly in the last verse, with Windows Sound Recorder (Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder) and when done recording, click on Effects then Reverse. It's pretty freaky, but this song has some really good hidden messages (not the message itself, but the clarity of the message). It's neat to listen to, but you need the music to do so. Rock on and enjoy the music!

This is a great album with some amazing tracks but it is not perfect. This album has some very high points(Black Dog, Stairway to Heaven, Misty Mountain, Rock and Roll, When the Levee Breaks) but it also contains some very low points(Four Sticks). The folky numbers(Battle of Evermore, Going to California) are not that great but they are okay. The good part about this though is that the highs outnumber the lows. If you hear this album expecting to hear a perfect album you'll likely be disappointed, but it is still worth buying for the amazing guitar solo in Stairway to Heaven and for the powerful drums in When the Levee Breaks(when hearing this song you can't help but think of New Orleans).

Worth buying for some of the best tracks ever written. Not Perfect but its really damn close. Well it sounds that way because of the great tracks in here.

Led Zeppelin one of the most influential music groups of all time. I was a kid when this came out. Sure I was in awe when I first heard it, but never really appreciated it until many years later. Now 30+ years later it still stands up.

Most people know this album because Stairway to Heaven. For me Misty Mountain Hop, Going to California and especially When the Levee Breaks are the stand out tracks. The arrangements, Jimmy's guitar playing, Roberts vocals, so original. The production so ahead of it's time. True classics. If you buy only one Zep album this is it.

Bought this because of 'Stairway to Heaven.' It has several really good songs. I enjoy listening to it while driving. Nothing about it I don't like.

Great CD! Just what I thought I'd be receiving. Perfect packaging too. Awesome for any Rock music lover and a great addition to any collection. I've listened to this music all my life and I still find it great listening. These guys are the best of all time. They can still play like they did when this album/CD first hit the stores. They say that "Stairway to Heaven" is one of the greatest rock and roll songs of all time. For me this is true. Enjoy it for yourself!!!

Should be in every rock collection, although lacking the freshness of 1 & 2. I was listening to a CD made from vinal so this remastered hit the spot.... Sound is great.................

Every rock and roll fan has to have this C.D., it's just a must!!!Stairway to heaven is like the national anthem to most rockers and can be listened to time and time again for years. And just before Stairway you have Rock and Roll which is what you need to get you ready for Stairway...it gets you all wound up and ready to party; I have gone from 8 track to cassette, to album, and to C.D, sometime you will go into a record store to get the C.D. and the young person will be in wonderment in why so many people come in and buy this C.D. You will just have to smile and laugh, cause you know why it is so important to you to have this product! You remember back at all the parties when you were young, and this tape would be playing over and over as you set in a corner and tried to stay awake.

Excellent condition. Quality recording remastered onto cd verses record. It was very enjoyable. Would buy again. Hard to find collectors item. Great buy!

I love Led Zeppelin from way back in the 60's thay are voted as the #1 Rock and Roll band of all time comming from many many old as well as new rock bands as the most insperational bands of all time.
I baught it because of the excilent price for a new CD.

This is a very excellent band. Listening to this remastered version is no different than listening to the album when I first heard it. However, I'm a few years older and definately wiser but I can dream about my first love as well as just reminisce. Good music and good memories!

The CD was received just as advertised. No scratches, skips, etc. I would not hesitate from buying other items from this seller.
