Leaving las Vegas by Original Soundtrack (CD, Mar-1995, ARK 21 USA)

How, could any one give this CD a lower score than a 5 out of 5. First off it is a great value. There are 25 songs. If you downloaded each and every one of these songs from anywhere on the internet it would cost over $18.00.

I bought this album just for the three old standards that Sting sings - and it was a bargain just fo rthem. Th eother songs are ok - but these three are awesome!

This score has haunted me for years. The music was noticeable in the theater as suited to the laid back mood of the film, but I appreciated it more and more in the 5 or 6 viewings since on DVD. As you listen to the not quite jazz and not quite blues, supported by Sting's throaty vocals, you are bound to be taken back to those clear desert nights. I hope it brings back memories of Bens hopeless but happy quest, and the sweet and unselfish Sera who was loyal till the end. Mike Figgis shows he is almost as accomplished with the melody as with film.
